Why Is Everyone So Mean?

“I am just curious...why is everyone so mean to each other on here like in the last year and a half or so?

The only mature and half way decent thread is the GET UP thread.

I don't see Snow Nymph post anymore and I enjoyed her adventures...I don't see Buck post here anymore and I enjoyed his pictures and stories...I know he could debate like everyone else, and state his strong opinions but he was ALWAYS nice about it and didn't fling hatred all over to anyone...Crazy Mike is gone now too. I am sure there are a lot more who I miss...just can't think of them all right now. I just see a few people who I have met, or who I would like to meet, at odds with each other and it makes me wonder WTH is the big deal about being so different?

I will say this...I could never hate anyone enough to leave them stranded on a mountain top...stranger or friend. If the Storm came our way out there, I would try to help all in need no matter who or what you are, where you do or didn't come from. In any storm, I would help just as I would need. I read a lot of these threads and feel very alone in my character. I also think that it really would take a crisis, unfortunately, to bring the best of all of us out with the trolls sitting aside, rotting in their very own soil of which nothing but pity remains.

“WOW...I always thought of this as sort of a big Costume party. I know the hike I went on the people were pretty nice. I have told many people I don't take this site seriously. Heck I havce enough problems to deal with without having this to add to the problems.

“I've noticed (I can think of 3 people off the top of my head) that the people who complain about the meanness are the first ones when they get to a fuego thread to go on the offensive and are the loudest about it. One of them is probabably the person who hikes more than anybody on this board and I really wanted to meet him. My multiple posts are only there because people either addressed me directly, or something I said, and I'm responding - like this post in response to you directly addressing me.

You're finger pointing at me on a post about civil discussion. All I'm doing is saying the ones who finger point are often the ones doing it themselves. (thanks for proving my point by the way)

The point I'm "belaboring" is in line with getting it to stop. You're belaboring pointing the finger at me, which instigates it further.

you get into it with somebody more or less every single day that you spend any significant time here. often you have multiple partners

i have seen you in the middle of more fights than everyone one else on the board put together

yes, alot of times others instigated them, including the time that got "sarge" banned permanently

lets say you have 50 fights with 50 different ppl (probably a typical week for you). even if you start only half those fights, you started 25 fights, while everyone else only started 1 fight
