“Yo dudes, I think I might come out for this. My wife wants me to take her out for New Year's Eve, but I could pretty easily be home in time for that.

I'm not signing up though until someone else does. I don't know if I could survive a night in the woods with SC, CMB, and no witnesses.”

“I want to know what Chin wants to know. My wife started screaming at me when I said something about camping. Apparently, we're having another Christmas on Saturday mid morning for some of her family who is from out of town. I think I have to go since we're married and I've never met them. I'm still trying to get out of it though.

I've been reminding her of all the times I couldn't go hiking in the last 2 years. Maybe if I keep it up, she'll actually feel bad for me or get so sick of hearing it she tells me just to go.

Yes, I am that a-hole that would choose hiking over family. It's been so long. Last weekend at the Deam was less than a tease with that roadwalk.

“She won't come. She's not a winter hiker. Plus, she'll be hanging out with the fam all weekend. There are a couple of little ones running around who she wants to spend time with.

That's partly the reason why I don't feel bad about not wanting to go. Oh, how cute, do you want to change the baby? Then there's the wailing. Then the being quiet when one of them actually falls asleep. Kids aren't my thing, can you tell?”

“We are going to meet at the trailhead at 10 am CST.We are going to to the big loop which is not alot of miles but it is a trip just to get out.We will be setting up camp by the lake.We will not be doing any of the trail in the DNR part of the trail.

This trip is going to be easy backpacking lots of looking around and enjoying the outdoors.
