Why is everyone so nice here? I mean I have met some of you here and everyone is so nice. People send me gifts, they send me small things that say, "Hey, i was thinking of ya and wanted to send ya this.". I have people I never met before treat me like and old friend and share great stories with me. I've had people give me help on the trail and off the trail when it's needed. I've had so many people make me laugh and smile when I'm having a bad day. I've had people I have bad mouthed treat me with kindness and forgiveness.

What's up with you people?

“Please. I insult you every chance I get!”

Your mouth says, "Nigal, you effing dick head!", but your shining eyes say, "I love you and all of TT....and monkeys.".

Yesterday gave us a chance to examine the meanness in us. Today I wanna think about dirty jokes we've swapped, $20 cigars given freely, and many great campfires.

Honestly, good idea for a thread.

Does it really mean something about this place when the mean thread progresses at five times the rate this one is?

Naw! ;)

How about how when travelling to a distant hike there is always someone willing to pick up from an airport or shuttle. Let alone the couple of times I have crashed at somebody's place before or afterward.

Really good point Nigal!

My favorite part of TT is that people you don't even know, half a country away rejoice with you at births, cry with you at losses and give eachother all the help they can regarding their little corner of the world and the hiking there. TT is a good place, even on the bad days, because the number of nice people far outweigh the meanies.

Well, I stopped by the library and seeing as how the warning says don't open at work, I am guessing I don't need to open that attachment here either.

Jesus, I could wind up being the one and only person in the history of Towsend to be invited to never come back to the library.

MarkO's being silly again
Nigal has a good, no excellent point. We tend to be most impressed by the negative things we encounter - it's good to think of the positive and the things and people we cherish - some of whom we've never met.

My serious hiking buddies moved away and TT has given me an oportunity to meet and enjoy the out -or-doors i9n a way that would otherwise not have been possible. I won't name anyone for - oh Hell there's MarkO, Bobo, Pennsy AmyG, Mapes, Dave, RichB, EvS, Sacco aChili, Artex and many more.

Thanks, Nigal.

I wish you all a happy season in whatever manner and for whatever reason you celebrate it. I wish you all health and the largest measure of happiness possible in the New Year.

I remember quite fondly one hiker who was quite ill with a migrane, another hiker who was carrying enough gear for the Normandy invasion...After I had hiked out I came back for my bud's pack. There around this total stranger were the TTers taking care of him, offering to carry his gear....Than night with the Cigars (those were Dang Good Cubans weren't they?) and coffee was really one of the better experiences of my life.

I think on Everest most of us would die to carry you out...(Well MarkO and I would probably sort out the ones who would be a better addition to the Donner Stew later on..but thats beside the point)

And if it got really bad Laq would have to be there for his knowldege of human anatomy to help us pick the best parts to Boil/Roast etc....BUT HEY we would be there for you! (Nigal....don't worry your knowledge of Cigars would protect you...until we ran out of Cigars (LOL)
