That time of year again
Time for another Winter slacker trip to the Kirkridge shelter, except this year we will acually do some backpacking. Start at the Lake Lenape trail head, over Minsi to the shelter or overlook if the weather cooperates. Come on all you Drunk=furst vets you know who you are!!

Hey Slacker - do ya think you'll be able to hike from the shelter to 191, or will ya need a shuttle again?

The answer to that question depends entirely on how much fun I have the night before! I think I had a little too much fun last time!

this is the shelter about 5 miles out from the town of delaware h2o gap, right?

Thanks for the invite slacker I'm in as a maybe. This looks like just enough hiking to work up a thirst.

no free rides for you this time, Slacker. Of course, the lovely spindlette may ride free anytime she desires.

Call me a maybe. Hopefully the wind will be a bit less aggressive this time around.

Pennsy, you are way too good to me.

Lost soul is disqualified from beer-buying for this one. He bought all the beer he was feeding to Lilmountaingirl and I on the pines trip...hmmmmm...now that I think of it...he was REAL quick to ply the girls with lots of beer...suspicious. ;) Heineken this time, right?

Nimblefoot, our last time at this shelter was during a lovely winter storm. Think exposed ridge in 50mph gusts with freezing rain. Wicked fun!

What was it that turned me from a nice guy to a deviant in your mind? Just curious.

Sorry? You are certainly NOT a deviant. Although that "kiss me, I'm Irish" incident is thoroughly dark-humor funny.

It's just that when us backpacker girls start drinkin' someone always ends up scribbled. Just wondering if you were forewarned. ;-)

It was fun, I didn't notice the cold until the next morning. I forgot to put my boots inside my bag. I should have driven home in my down booties 'cause my tootsies were sooo cold!

It was days before I started feeling warm again after that one. I learned a lot that weekend. Like hangovers are even less pleasant than usual when weather that bad is involved.

Learn something new every time, eh? ;)

A Word of Caution:

Some friends of mine had their cars vandalized at the 191 shelter parking lot a little over a year ago. I hope this isn't a recurring event, but I wanted to make you aware.
