Marko went last year to Linville Fridge and as for bailing on the rain well I had to do what I had to do! Didn't want my youngin to get sick ya know.That's my story and I'm stickin to it!

actually it is now 53 degrees at 3:30pm but the bottom is supposed to fall out by sunday and monday. and the temps too.

I gotta do a four or five day weekend down in those parts and see some of ya.
Mount Rogers, I know, I know!!
If I can get that Bonehead EarthNsky to carpool we could make it a real hootenanny.
The boy is a good singer and pretty good picker.

Its 500 plus miles from home...........Lake Placid, New York is nearly 500 as well and I'm ridin' up with Bobo and ENS.

All you have to do is find the Kistler memorial Highway (Dirt Road) and keep going til you find the labled trailhead.I plan to be there around 5 pm. I drive a white Chev 2500 with Harrison Pallet Services on the side it will be very noticable.

My son called today. He hasn't been here in almost a year. He is taking off work this week and he and my daughter are out od school on TH and FR. So, I am going to pick them up Wed and take them home FR so my son can work this weekend.

Count me out for Linville. I am going to SoRuck on Saturday.

since its a 9 hour drive for me, according to mapquest, i believe i'll leave early thursday evening, and plan on getting as far as south kentucky, then getting to the gorge sometime early friday afternoon. i'd like to have some time to hike friday

Wind and snow these past 6 hours at Linville Gorge (which I can see out the window to my left) with an intense Alberta Clipper passing thru.

Such fronts usually do not drop snow here just South of the mountains but some intense snow squalls have fallen even here so I imagine the Linville Falls area will receive a half foot or more of snow this evening.

Spam, you posted about the snow posted 18 seconds before I did.
