“I was supposed to be Volunteering Monday in Damascus and insuring our designated camp spot was all secure, but I will not be there on Monday or through out the week until thursday. My wife's Mother pasted away so we both are totally out of the loupe for now.
Local who is one of the Volunteers and has meet several of the TTer's in the past tells me he has the area designated for us all secured and marked off. For those wanting the exact location here it is.......as you enter the campground through the front gate continue straight and a camp road straight ahead will take you to a field on the right. Continue on straight into the woods , this is the area we have reserved. the river is behind us and a camp fire ring already there.
Local was telling me last fall they were going to try to close off the field and no camping. So when i was down there helping clear some camping areas last fall, Local allowed me to have a pick of camping areas so I picked this one since it's easy to find, and the sound of the river is right there. If we need fire wood I will bring it on Friday night. I should be down briefly on Thursday and plan on Calm Spirits and myself there friday night. Good luck and have a safe trip to this event.”

Frig, is the site you have staked out for us where the 2006 thruhikers had tarp city set up that the cops raided? That location was to the left of the trail heading into the woods over the small drainage creek. There is another location at the end of the trail to the right that is right by the swimming hole (the place where that old bridge bent (looks like a big rock) is in the middle of the river.”

“Fridge, sorry for your loss, and my best to your family. I hope you can make it to this year's Trail Days. I've put a small sign up and put yellow tape around the area you and I discussed. If anyone wants directions I should be around the campground, since I'm one of three volunteers assigned there. People could just ask for me, Richard, and I'll show them where the Trail Talk site is. We'll be cutting weeds there Monday and late Tuesday, if anyone wants to help.”

Spam, every January another hiking group I am part of has this thing we call a Hootenannny. Wildbill and I drive up to the mountains with oysters, shrimp, clams, fish, etc and we have a seafood bash Friday night. Another guy builds a pig cooker out of concrete blocks and a wood lid he built to go over them. Late Friday night he begins cooking pork butts. Saturday's dinner is a BBQ feast. So yeah, they do go great together.”
