Gettin' the Itch

“...to head out for a hike.

I'm sitting here at my dining room table on my laptop. On my walls I have a lot of pictures that I've taken on my hikes. One thing that I do when I complete a hike is put together a large poster; a topgraphical map showing the trail, along with pictures take at various locations along the trail. I mark each picture with a nubmer and place a corresponding number on the trail, where the picture was taken. It's a nice way for me to "relive" the hikes.

Anyways, looking up at the walls from my dining room table I see these posters, of the trails I've completed...and I'm getting the itch to head out.

Anyone else gettin' the itch?”

“Dude , Lostsoul and I are going up to the Catskills this friday. You are more than welcome to come.”

“Thanks Jackstraw, I'd love to, but that's a bit more than I wanted to travel. Quite a trip for the two of you, isn't it? I was surprised to see you make the trip to the Mid State, but the Catskills? That's a good 3 hours more of travle.”

“I live with the itch daily.”

“I know...but this week I'm in a position to scratch it. Just looking for some "scratchin" options.”

“I have a patch collection. I initially framed 18 in a large picture frame. I later bought two 8x12 frames to match the mondo one, in which I display six patches each. That's 30 patches. Wow (I had never done the math before, I reckon - lol!)

I also have numerous 8x12 photo enlargements framed. They total prolly ten. I have no unframed patches, but several more photos to deal with (not a photographer, btw, but even a disposable Fugi does well if the scenery is right, ie. Tetons, Sawtooths, Bryce, etc...)

I hope to be ready to hike up by 10:00 am. that will give me at least 2 full hours to get to the top. LOL I will need that much time”

“I have the urge to go out too but alas, I'm sick and must stay home :(
Oh and I wouldn't go around tellin people you're itchy. They make medicine for that now. lol.”

“4 season tent? In PA? A solid 3 season tent will be plenty.”

“We got a little snow today for the first time in weeks, taking a hike tommorrow in the FLNF, it will be nice not having mud to trudge through.”
