Gouge out his eyes, use his skull for sexual satisfaction (Ya can't print S---- F--- even in here), HANG HIM, them decapitate him with a rusty Sword (Film at 11 on Al Jazeera), then wrap his body in raw pigskin and bury him with his feet pointed to Mecca.... Don't forget to fully document the entire process for historical purposes. Discuss....” 2:50:21 PM 12/29/06 “Happy New Year, Sad... Everyone's having a big O over someones execution. What would a righteous religion think of this?” 8:50:17 PM 12/29/06 “The social justice of man is so hollow and dissatisfying. Let the Iraqs deal with him in whatever way they see fit.” 8:56:49 PM 12/29/06 “date was set?” 9:08:52 PM 12/29/06 “I've learned alot by watching Colamity and Holmes on the FOX, which is tied for last with all the other news networks in my book. When ask what effect Saddams' execution will have on other dictators, most answered with the wish 'WE should put them all on trial'.” 9:11:55 PM 12/29/06 “Who's gonna post the first video?” 9:15:37 PM 12/29/06 “It is done.” 9:16:33 PM 12/29/06 “yup may he have no rest in peace :(” 9:39:19 PM 12/29/06 “All done, eh? They had been executed the day before some 50 miles to the north in Mezzegra and were now offered to the people who spat on the corpses and kicked them. They were then hanged by the feet. In medieval Italy it was the custom to hang crooks or embezzlers, by one foot. The fact that Mussolini was hung by two feet suggests the deep level of rage and betrayal felt by the people towards their once beloved "Duce". "just more killing.” Jimmy san 10:39:35 PM 12/29/06 Yeah, and about time too. Btw, I've heard that a proper hanging is one of the quickest and most humane methods of execution. It may not have been taking joy in their deaths but it sure looked like you were having fun. LOL!” 1:23:28 PM 12/30/06 “What nigal said! Hyproc.... ah, what's the use. This is yet another second in this pivitol moment in history. It's gonna be considered a positive turn, historically speaking. We're in the midst of a tremendous clash of good versus evil - like it or not. Believe or not. Deny it or not. Keep your focus if you've got it, squint if you don't. We gotta stay coheised and get these Islamo-stinkybutts dedder than ded. God Bless America! ...and guide George W. His survival could have caused problems in the future. So, the execution was self-defense and morally justifiable. And with the speed at which events seem to be happening in Iraq, the sooner, the better.” 4:14:37 PM 12/30/06 “What Violin said!” 4:19:49 PM 12/30/06 “What Viloin sayed to! Hay mitster! I've got no problem with him being executed. I'm hoping that it did some good.” 5:17:21 PM 12/30/06 “i can see the irony in marco's posts. why can't you?” 5:31:14 PM 12/30/06 “People who enjoy killing probably enjoy being killed.” 5:31:42 PM 12/30/06 “I haven't read everyone's post..maybe I should..but ever since I heard they hung him I have felt a sense of sadness. I know he was a terrible terrible man but it saddens me when anyone has to die..especially with someone whose heart is as evil as his was.” 5:41:29 PM 12/30/06 “doesn't grok (edit: in reference to salebored's post) last edited: 12/30/06 5:43:02 PM” 5:41:50 PM 12/30/06 Clara Petacci “BTW, marko, I had never really read about Clara Petacci before your post. I have since looked up some stuff. Wikipedia has a good summary I thought I would post here... thanks for mentioning her in that post. Clara Petacci (Claretta Petacci) (February 28, 1912 – April 28, 1945) was a young Roman girl from an upper-class family who became Benito Mussolini's mistress. Her father had been the personal physician to the Pope. She was twenty-nine years younger than Mussolini. When Mussolini was captured by Communist partisans in April 1945, it is said that Petacci was offered the opportunity to escape, but she firmly refused and instead tried to protect Mussolini with her body. The Duce was then shot immediately after her. On the following day, April 29, 1945, at the Piazzale Loreto in Milan, Mussolini and Petacci's bodies, along with four others, were hanged upside down at an Esso gas station and photographed as a crowd vented their rage upon them. Petacci is apparently respectfully considered in Italy; without reference to politics, but only as a woman who did not abandon the man she loved in times of trouble. last edited: 12/30/06 5:46:53 PM” 5:46:28 PM 12/30/06 “For some people, it's not always fun doing the right thing, but executing Saddam was the right thing to do. Me personally, I'm glad he's dead, and I hope the hanging was botched so that he had to twist and kick for a while before he died.” 6:18:20 PM 12/30/06 “The right thing and the necessary thing?” 6:26:52 PM 12/30/06 “The official teachings of Judaism approve the death penalty in principle but the standard of proof required for application of death penalty is extremely stringent, and in practice, it has been abolished by various Talmudic decisions, making the situations in which a death sentence could be passed effectively impossible and hypothetical The Roman Catholic Church traditionally accepted capital punishment as per the theology of Thomas Aquinas (who accepted the death penalty as a necessary deterrent and prevention method, but not as the means of vengeance). Under the pontificate of Pope John Paul II, this position was refined. His encyclical Evangelium Vitae denounced abortion, capital punishment, and euthanasia as murder (see Consistent Life Ethic). The Roman Catholic Church holds that the death penalty is no longer necessary if it can be replaced by incarceration The Lambeth Conference of Anglican and Episcopalian bishops condemned the death penalty in 1988. the Mennonites and Friends, among other, smaller groups, opposed it. The United Methodist Church, along with other Methodist churches, also condemns capital punishment, saying that it cannot accept retribution or social vengeance as a reason for taking human lif The Rosicrucian Fellowship and many other Christian esoteric schools condemns the capital punishment in all circumstances. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (colloquially known as Mormons) hold a neutral position on the death penalty. Scholars of Islam hold it to be permissible but the victim or the family of the victim has the right to pardon. In Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh), to forbid what is not forbidden is wrong. Consequently, it is difficult to make a case for abolition of the death penalty which is explicitly endorsed. In Protestantism, both Martin Luther and John Calvin followed the traditional reasoning in favor of capital punishment, and the Augsburg Confession explicitly defends it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_penalty#Global_distribution_of_death_penalty So only Protestants and Muslims should feel righteous about this, no? Interesting commonality there, don'tchya think?” 6:33:59 PM 12/30/06 “Munchkins Ding Dong! The Witch is dead. Which old Witch? The Wicked Witch! Ding Dong! The Wicked Witch is dead. There's only one unforgivable sin - from what I understand. Saddam Hussein(sp?) was a soldier - he wore the uniform of the Commander in Chief of the Iraqi military. This is not a legal or religious issue, this is war. He had a history of commiting war - against Iran, against the Kurds, against the Allies of the First Gulf War, and most recently against many of the world's nations united - not so much in action, but in words too wreckless to ignore in the Post-9/11 environment. His self imposition of the military rank he held came with certain responsibilities and expectations. He spit and spewed and rattled his sabre to the degree that he probably didn't know what he was getting himself into. He went too far, plain and simple. Our Commander in Chief was right in his decision to take this warrior to task. It's almost cliche, but if the leaders of late 1930's Western Europe had acted much sooner to stop a couple of other dictators, the world would have been much the better for it, imo. My dad's crew plucked a dead Jap suicide pilot from the Pacific and gave him a burial at sea with full military honors. They did this because he wore a uniform. It's odd how such events can occur - one minute the guy's trying to kill you, the next your standing at attention and sending him overboard with a salute of respect. I doubt if any such event ever occured on board any Imperial Japanese Naval vessels, but that's them - that's not us. Your not likely to see any such behavior from the Islamo-Fascist cowards, either. The spineless bastards won't even man-up and suit-out so's to distinguish themselves from non-combatants. At least Saddam did. Let's give him some credit for that. Again - may God have mercy on his soul.” 9:00:27 PM 12/30/06 “Not only is Sadam in Hell, he's being gang raped by all the demons. ;-)” 9:10:07 PM 12/30/06 “So only Protestants and Muslims should feel righteous about this, no? Interesting commonality there, don'tchya think?” bearmagnet 6:33:59 PM 12/30/06 You need to brush up on your definitions. Anglicans, Episcopalians, and Methodists are all protestants. Furthermore, I don't really care what protestants, Catholics, Jews, or Muslims believe about the death penalty. Are you a religious person BM?” 9:20:21 PM 12/30/06 “BM, the key phrase for Catholics is "if it can be replaced by incarceration." It is a very real possibility that we will either leave Iraq or be forced out at some point in the next few years. I don't think we could bring him to the U.S. And leaving him there would not have been possible. So, I don't think that this was a situation in which incarceration was a reasonable alternative to the death penalty. I also think that his continued life did give some Iraqis inspiration. It might have been a few, but this was self defense.” 7:14:35 AM 12/31/06 “Saddam had a few followers to be sure, the question that arises is whether they will use his death as a reason to commit new acts of terror in saddam's name. I generally oppose death as a penalty since such people could be put to hard labor instead. Putting his eyes out and chaining him to a mill stone comes to mind.....” 7:37:54 AM 12/31/06
