Gee, thanks WK...

;P

I have to pack several more boxes for the protracted move we're doing... all that running up and down the stairs will be good for me.

as soon as I get lazy and miss days at the gym I'll start gaining. I guess after 40 you'll got to work twice as hard at it. don't help that I have a 'sit all day on my ass' job either.

got to lose 10 lbs this year.

what I hate the most: they know I am on a damn diet and then they bring home pizza. wtf is that? all year long no pizza, but once I am on a diet there it is! PIZZA!

Pizza, french fries and peanut butter are my fave foods. I don't eat them very often though.

I'd like to gain 4 pounds of subcutaneous fat tissue by the end of January, to keep me warm during the winter camping survival workshop. I figured out that this is a lot cheaper and effectiv than buying a warmer sleeping bag. I think fat insulates a lot better than down.

I'll settle for gaining 15 lbs of fat or muscle, either is fine for me. I've gained around 30lbs the past year and a half.

for some it's really tough to keep or gain weight. I mean, really, with all the 'half-the-fat'crap they sell at supermarkets. You get half the calories for the double price. WTF?

Wife is trying to loose 30 pounds by June 15. I would like to add that by then.

I need to lose 15 or so. I'm just under 180 (176-178) and want to get around 160. A few years back I got down to around 153 or so and have slowly added it back. The sympathy weight with a pregnant and now nursing wife has really caught up with me.

I had a good year. I started off not toobad anyway. 6"1" and 227

I lost 40 lbs in 4.5 months with walks, an elliptical trainer and eventually 20 minute jogs.

Due to a medical condition, I had to watch blood glucose levels and cut out sugar and enriched white flour. I changed my eating habits entirely

I have since stabilized at 42 lbs lost and I'd like to knock off 5 more to bring me to a 180lb weight. I haven't felt this good in 5 years.

Just finished my 30 minute jog/brisk walk
I am definitely jumping on this thread this year. I've got a wedding dress to wear in April and then a Mexico honeymoon in the summer. Two and a half weeks ago I joined Weight Watchers as well as made a commitment to exercise at least 30 minutes every day. Except for four days over Christmas, I haven't missed. Yesterday I even jogged a whole mile without stopping. I haven't done that in at least 7 or 8 years.

Loosing Weight in 2007
how about learning to spell in 2007?

i can remember a time when people actually knew how to spell "losing". then the internet destroyed all that. and dont get me started on people who dont capitalize or neglect to use end punctuation

Ruby...congrats! I hate running, but I do it just because. I wonder what's better, running or the elliptical trainer. anyone knows? My trainer wants to put me on the elliptical, but yuck...i hate that even more

Nigal, 40/50 lbs. that's awesome. I still didn't see a nudy picture of YOU. *grins*

I've been fortunate enough to stay relatively thin even at my age.....my problem now is just staying active....and since I have more motivation now (was diagnosed with high blood pressure a couple months ago) it's time to get with it and stick to it. Tarabull and I are starting a new activity plan this week designed to keep us in better shape.

how much calories do each of you eat? [not being rude and ask how much you weight]

any of you eat less then the recommended calories? feel like you don't lose weight if you stick with the recommended calorie intake?

I am just wondering because I eat less, my trainer is always nagging at me for it, but I don't think I lose if I stick with the recommended 1200 calories.

10 years ago, I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and gout. I was 210 lbs.

Cutting out fast food, combined with starting to hike did wonders for me. Since my honeymoon 10 years ago, I've lost 45, gained back 25 in muscle and currently working on trimming up the rest, while adding some pounds to the guns and legs.

I eat like a pig, but much better food.

Wanna loose weight? Get out from behind the keyboard and hike.

Gotta agree with Q....one of the best fat burners is a mid weight backpack while hiking over moderate terrain. Don't know about anyone else but many times I think I actually eat less in the woods. may be the whole "what goes in must come out" mentality, or it may be that I am busy.

Hey Gemini, did ya hear about the new diet they have out now? Yeah, all ya eat is rinse water from the dishes. Ya get your water and all the nutrients of the food stuck to the dishes. You should give that one a try. LOL!

Oh man! My late christmas present came today. Gordon Ramsey's Passion for Food cookbook. THis could be bad for my diet. He uses a whole stick of butter and a quart of whole cream in every recipe I think. LOL! He's the male Paula Dean.

If you only eat once a week on that diet, you should be fine.

Whole stick of butter and a quart of ice cream?

Those were the two nessesary items I brought to bed with me the two times I banged my ex-wife.

One to grease up that hog and the other to throw to her to loosen the death grip on me and help me escape.

I LOVE my son!!!!!!!!!!!!
My hard work apparently is paying off. I have been working out 6 or 7 days a week since mid-December and really watching what I eat. Thus far I've lost 11 pounds. Besides losing weight for our wedding and honeymoon, my goal is to run a 5K this year so I have really been pushing myself to jog just a little longer each day.

My 6-year-old walked into my bedroom this afternoon just as I was finishing my treadmill workout. He said, "Mom, you're getting smaller." I could have cried. That was the nicest thing anyone has said to me so far this year. ;D

Congrats Ruby! It is so much harder for you ladies to lose weight. And yes I will be steeling Hobbs' line and using on the wife tonight! LOL!

I got a little sidetracked by the holidays but only gained about 5 pounds but have hit a wall. I guess I'll have to [gulp] exercise or something.

Woohoo! Congrats Ruby!!!

I am going to be losing about 20 pounds in the next 2 months, as I have been selected to be on a weight loss infomercial! I started the training on Monday, and I have to be on an extremely strict diet. This is Day 4 of no alchohol...lololol....it hurts!!!

Anyways, it is for a machine called the Lateral Thigh Twister, and I will be on a television set near you!!! Don't know yet when it will air, but I'll keep yall posted.

I have been hearing about Barbie's success, Brian. Brenda was over the other day and told me about the girls' deal they've got going. Brenda thinks Barbie is going to win the grand prize.

haha, yeah, its pretty funny. They gave me a machine to take home, but I also have to go to workouts 3-4 times a week. I would never buy something like that, but I guess it does work if you do it for a long time. Thats why we are on a really strict diet and have to do weight training and all that.

I've been going a Body Pump class twice a week for quite a while. This class uses weights and works every muscle group in the body.

I try to work in the tread mile and elliptical machine too. I've gone down a size! Only lost 2 lbs though. That's o.k.! I feel stronger and hopefully the pack will feel light on my back next time I strap it on!
