sibelius software

“Anyone use Sibelius or know about it?

I'm looking at Sibelius 4 and trying to figure out the difference between the student and professional versions (beside the fact that the pro costs 5 times as much). How good are they?

“Cool beans....no doubt Sibelious is an awesome piece of notation software and if all you want out of your software is to compose and record/edit, then it's probably a safe bet....

You can pick-up a student version of Sibelious for around a $80 or version 4 for about $220.....the student version is great to see if its a piece of software you like and I believe you can upgrade if you really dig it...

I would also check out the Cakewalk line of products like Sonar 4........Also, Finale is another notation package worth checking out...

I would have him download the demo versions of some of these packages and get a feel for the operating system.....everyone has their own nuances as to how they like these things presented.....

BTW....what instrument is he playing...i'm assuming piano.....
