Did you say keg delivery?!

All is dependant on when it is, and if we can get kid and doggy sitters. I'd like to go, definitely.

I was going to make a comment about ticks. Something tells me they'll be really bad at that time of year.

We'll definitely need bug spray but it shouldn't be horrible. The little tiny ones are the ones that get on me.

Bugs are going to be really bad there in June. Fall, Winter, or Early Spring is the best (only) time to do LBL.
Prepare to be chewed up by the bugs.

Hey Soldier! Call your mother! Or talk to me on line. Whatever.

The route will be based on how many people sign up. I'll scout out campsites that will accomodate the number of people that sign up and plan the route based upon that.

I know a great campsite about 2 miles in from the North Welcome station but I don't know if it will accomodate > 10 people. It's a wooded area right on the shoreline in between two cliffs. I need to check out the shoreline and see if it's wide enough to pitch tents.

Ok. The middle one is getting a cough, and they are all at their moms till tomorrow evening, so I'm wound up tighter than a two dollar Rolex. Last night was the first time I had heard from her in a month. Well anywho, I'm hitting the trail in the AM with a couple new TT'ers, and I think we maybe going back to Patton Cave in the Deam... wow, that will be a trip... the cave should be really pretty even though there will be no way of getting into it with the ice.

The cool thing is its legal to drink on ft. bliss if you're at least 18, but you can't leave the base. I've been trying to ask for leave to go on the trip, but in the last two weeks, I have been moved to three different companies, just think if you had the same job but your bosses changed that fast, I can't get any paper work done! AH!

Hey Stomper,

So what's the deal, is this going to be like my Mammoth Cave trip last year...

Friday - Camp and have fun
Saturday - Hike in and camp
Sunday Hike out and leave

Will we be hiking on Friday?

WK - Yes sounds good! I gave you a map of the area. Do you still have it?

The backwoods campsite I have picked out is 1.5-2 miles from the North Welcome Station. It's on the Canal Loop Trail which is a 14.2 mile loop trail. This trail includes four connector trails so you can do as much or as little of the 14 mile loop as you want. With this option, we could dayhike from Friday nights campsite.

The trails are well marked and shared with mountain bikers. Part of the trail is on the Kentucky Lake side and the other part is by Barkley Lake.

The other option is a section hike of the North/South trail. I haven't done this trail yet so I need to scout it out to see what camping areas are available. However, it connects to Friday nights campsite and swings by the North Welcome station so we could meet up with Saturday moring arrivers. We would probably get in 10 miles on Saturday and then have a 2 mile hike out Sunday morning. We'd have to shuttle cars.

The route could be 1 to 2 on Saturday and exit on Sunday at Hatchery Hollow (3).

So what do you think?

I'll just be glad to see grass. I priced a plane trip up there and it looks like it might cost me about $600 for getting there and back. That's what I'm gunning for.

No, I didn't forget! You can get a flight for .06 cents a mile if you get Nikki to book it for you. That is, if she still works for the airlines then.

P.S. You still haven't called.
