War is not good for children and other living things.

Peace

Make love, not war.

Here are a few...
One for the ladies to use--
The only Bush I trust is the one between my legs

Here's an old standby--
Gas, Grass, or Ass, nobody rides for free

Or this one I saw on the back of an old hippy's car--
Thank you for POT smoking

Okay, I've done the weekly duty required of all TTers and derailed a thread.

I'm no D or R but Bush made a bad call...everyone does.

Now let's have teamwork to fix the mess up and stop the killing.

Well Cold, you strike me as a nice person, even if we disagree on the necessity of killing.

Every minute a proven "terrorist"; one that wants to cause harm against the people of this great Nation, dies, is a good minute in the book of American history.

Interesting. Question/statement/thinking out loud:

One can say it is morally wrong to kill. To say sometimes it's ok, or under certain circumstances it's OK, brings in relative morality, no?

Bear -- If there might be one constant among our species, it's that we like to beat the living hell out of each other for position. It helped "us" get to where we are today.

Physical force to achieve our goals is sometimes needed. The greatest achievement we might come to, is having the ability and not needing to use it.

BTW -- Morality is a relative term.

"Laqtis,...you must be talking oversea. We dont have a problem here?Bush has done a good after 911 for the homeland."

Constant "probes" and investigations of our "ports of entry" by our own government (and the MSM) has reflected that we are still open to a possible domestic situation.

While no system can be 100% effective, our current system -- well sucks. Absence of a terrorist attack since the currently unsolved Anthrax attack after 9/11, does not mean that the current system has been truly effective.

I couldn't agree more. While I try to be a positiove person I see the lack of attacks as not a sign of our vigilance but rather a sing of the enemy's patience. We have to remember that the WTC attack of 1993 was a dry run for 2001 eight years later. And of course we will be caught with our pants around our ankles looking towards NYC when all of a sudden a major city in the middle will go up in smoke and glow for 100 years.

I'll tell ya I laugh at conspiracy theorists and all that but a fairly quick Googling shows there is something seriously effed up going on down in Phoenix Arizona. Don't look at NYC. Look at Phoenix.

"Don't look at NYC. Look at Phoenix."

I think you are correct. It is very plausible for a city that is close to the border like Phoenix to be an obvious target for attack. With a porous border near by, I would not be surprised if there were a situation there.

My hope is, of course, that nothing happens to any city. However, cities like these (including mine) would seem to be a natural target. Also, hitting something deeper inside America would shake our country to the core.

OH Laqtose....see targets of opportunity for terroists have to make a statement. Thats why they hit something like the Twin Towers rather than the Museum of Natural History. One really makes a difference the other is kinda a whooptie target.

Hey did anyone check out the murder rate last year in New Orleans...with extra National Guard on the street it is still extremely high for a half empty city.

The question do we lose them fighting for the survival of the American Nation or throw them away in another Government Sponsored Slavery give away program?

That's because the Mayor rounded up all the guns from the good citizens. It's what we here in Ohio call a store that disallows concealed carry...CPZ. Criminal Protection Zone.

Thank you for re-enforcing my statement. Hitting something say like, Denver, or someplace in BFE, Utah would show to America that no town is safe.

Terrorism is just that -- spreading terror among the masses. Hitting soft targets would be a natural choice, that's why I don't understand why places like.....

On second thought, while remote, I erased my message due to the public nature of this forum.

The anthrax attack was a domestic crime.

Terrorists have been trying harder to strike the U.S. Just look at all the domestic arrests, and many dozens, and more like hundreds of convictions.

Bush has been 100% successful since 9-11 protecting the U.S. from foreign terrorism.

How do you know that the anthrax attack was a domestic crime? The last I checked, no one was sitting in prison for that one.

When I weigh the U.S. position in the world now versus before 911, I think that we are in a much weakened state. And I think that much of it is/was self-inflicted.

Rod Serling had it right in his Twilight Zone episode "The Martians are Due on Maple Street." The Martians turn a few lights off and on. They stop a few cars. And suddenly all of the humans are killing each other. At the end, the Martians just stand there watching humanity self-destruct.

I think that al-qaeda is smarter than we give them credit for. They were bright enough to turn Spain and they have consistently used their attacks for quantifiable political gain.

I completely believe that they have not tried to attack us again because they don't have to.

Sure the Twilight zone is the answer.

That explains a lot.

DNA testing of the anthroax showed it came from a strain that originated in the United States. Further testing of the anthrax showed that it was produced in one of two or three institutions in the northeast part of the United States. Testing of mailboxes showed the letters were mailed from a mailbox near Princeton. The only person of interest was a U.S. scientists. Sounds to me like a domestic crime.

Reformed Lurker, how can you claim the anthrax was foreign terrorism in one breath, and in the next breath claim that foreign terrorists have "not tried to attack us again". You obviously do not believe your own positions, and have impeached yourself twice.
