Why do I have to be fuzzy? I live in Ohio and still get lost. Speaking of, I can't wait to use my new GPS thingy :-)

Yep, anyone who wants to get out speak up. We don't care where we go.

Hi Fuzzy Pink Butt!

Probably some place with lots of trees so you can tie off a bunch of tarps for the rain this weekend. What are ya guys talking about here? Backpacking? Camping out and getting together? Cheap motel and a case of Boon's Farm wine?

I'm busy Friday night but I could come out and play Saturday morning through Sunday. What part of the state are we talking here? There's Hocking Hills in south central. There's John Bryant in the west central.

Hey stovie! We told the waitress there that we were the last of our group, and to have a good day as we were leaving and her reply was "I will now"
LOL! No kidding. I don't think anyone else heard it but I don't think she likes hikers very well...

Naw I think this is turning into an Indiana trip cause our fearless Fuzzy leader couldn't find anything she liked in OH. I think it's gonna be the LowGap trail just south of Indy. You are more than welcome though. I'm pretty sure it's just a Sat-Sun thing.

try that Nigal. Low Gap is #7 on the list. It's a 10 mile loop, and it would be easiest to meet at the ranger station about 1/2 mile past the TH.

John Bryant is real nice. It doesn't have backpacking but has a nice state park campground. There are two places for hiking and they are connected so you could do a 12 mile day hike if ya wanted to. And Yellow Springs is an awesome town with lots of shops and hippies to taunt and tease.

Ok, here's the scoop-fam, an da bla-bla-blam, so ya got da hook-up from da flo up, an we keep it proppa like.

I guess I'm planning this now and it's gonna be the Low Gap trail on the 20 - 21st. This is a 10 mile loop with back country camping. There is a link above to the Indiana DNR page with an addy, and map info.
I figure we'll meet at the ranger station at about 1000 on Saturday. This would give us plenty of time to wander the trail in and maybe explore a little around camp. I believe it is about 4 miles to the back country area where camping is allowed. Water is not a problem on the way in but I'm not sure about on the way out. So we may need to pump plenty of water in the morning. That may not be correct. I'll have to look at my maps when I get home tonight, and let you know tomorrow. Also if anyone wanted to kill some extra time on Sunday we could cruise out to Bear lake and check things out out there.

I'd like to hear more about John Bryant State Park. I've seen the website before but it didn't look too spectacular. I thought it was just a state park with an overlook to the river. I might go out there on Sunday for a dayhike. 12 miles you say? I had no idea.

Who is fuzzy pink butt?

If you link the Clifton Gorge trail with the Glen Helen trail system it can be a nice day of hiking. Dogs aren't allowed on part of the Clifton trail though. Don't know if you might be taking a dog or not.

I really like John Bryan. I try to get up there every spring at least once. There's a little 9+ mile day hike loop route I got together, basically from one end to the other. Pretty easy, takes about 3-3.5 hours. The Clifton Gorge part is the most scenic. That's a beautiful little gorge. I'd like to see it raging after a good heavy rain. The trails can be crowded though.

John Bryan/Clifton Gorge is between Xenia and Springfield. 2 other nice stops while you are there are Young's Jersey Dairy and the Clifton Mill. Fun places to eat and hang out. Both parks are very nice places to day hike.
