Dresden Dolls

“Anyone here enjoy the Dresden Dolls?

They are a local duo that sound like nobody else. They started out as sort of an underground alt-band. They opened a tour for Nine Inch Nails a while back and have now done a major tour on their own. The are wrapping up a run at the American Repertory Theater where they did a collaboration with the theater company. I saw them the other night = they we great, but there was a less than seamless integration between the Dolls and the ART. They got a standing Ovation and are selling out everything including weekdays and matinees as they finish their run.

They describe their music as "Brechtian Punk Cabaret." Dan Savage is a big fan. Their best known song is probably "Coin Operated Boy."”
