Charity Hike Sponsors?View MessagesViewing posts 1 to 6 of 6 messages posted.
About The AT Thruhike “My impending AT thruhike will be multi-fold. Besides the usual excuses used so's to spend several months walking around in the woods, I wanna help raise money for my Number One charity - Spastic Paraplegia Foundation. They are on board with this, and will, among other things, provide a hike page at their website. sp-foundation.org They asked me about potential sponsorships. I said I would ask. Any of you TTers have an ear to this ground?” 12:05:25 PM 1/22/07 12:06:25 PM 1/22/07 “I would be willing to make a private citizen's donation (in real money, not Canuck Monopoly money). Doug” 12:10:56 PM 1/22/07 “That would be great - go directly to their website for that if you want. Or, you can pledge to donate "X amount" for every mile I do along the AT. Or both :) It would be interesting to see if manufactures or distributors would sponsor me. That is, donate boots, pack, tent, etc... Mebbe they could have an add on the website in return? I dunno. I'll get off my lazy butt and sit down at the web for a while - Google like the wind, I will...” 12:20:35 PM 1/22/07 “gojo, how much water do you normally boil when cooking on the trail? last edited: 1/22/07 1:08:27 PM” 1:07:57 PM 1/22/07 “Prolly no less than one cup, but not more than 8 oz. Prolly averages out to about a half pint.” 3:42:04 PM 1/22/07
