“Big episode. You find out the background on Mr. Invisible (he used to be part of "the company" until cheerleader Dad was ordered to kill him), find out some more background on cheerleader's Dad, and at the end "the company" finds out about cheerleader and orders Dad to bring her in. Instead he has the Haitian shoot him (non-fatally) and erase any memory "that will lead them back to her". In the preview for next week you find the painter's ex-girlfriend (Peter's current girlfriend) apparently alive again.”

“I'm just glad they didn't copy the ending of "Watchmen" (it was sort of leaning that way). Hiro goes to Japan and Takezo Kensei appears to be there (can you say hardcore samurai training?). I really hope they teach Hiro how to use a sword for real. I wasn't satisfied with the "couple of hours" of instruction that he recieved from his father. He was holding the sword incorrectly in many shots and most of his motions seemed sloppy (perhaps this is intentional due to the meticulous nature of the show...). Anyway, all around awesome stuff.”

“Excellent ending, almost a 10. They kept up the writting all the way to the end - that bit about going back to the beginning was brilliant. Not blowing up NY was to be expected, and Siler crawling away was, too. I'm betting that Peter will show up in the middle of next season, after he slowly regenerates. I don't think his brother is gone, either. He probably dropped him like a hot potato (ha ha) and shot off to safety.

I didn't like the whole "you saved the cheerleader so we could save the world". No, they needed to work the cheerleader a little more into the ending. And just to note, blowing up NY would not destroy the world. That whole America-is-center-of-world thing annoys me. So they also needed to show how saving her really saved the world.”

“I see it like this--Anybody could shoot Peter in the head, stopping the bomb, but then Peter would have died. They sort of played it up that her ability (healing) was the only way someone could get close to Peter to kill him, although everyone else was standing within range to shoot. However, it was her power that Peter absorbed that will let him survive the explosion, so that he will have the potential to be the "ultimate" good guy, probably having a great deal to do with saving lives on a scale greater than a few million in the future.
The only way this could happen is if Nathan intervened and sacrificed himself. Claire, his daughter (cheerleader) seemed to have a great deal to do with turning Nathan over to the "good side." So maybe it is not just Claire's ability that has set into motion events that may save the "world," but rather her relationship with her biological father as well.
Basically, I think that saving Claire saved Peter, and in one way or another, the rest of the world (eventually).”

That was something else I didn't entirely buy - it would have put him out for a while, but then he would have come back supposedly with the same nuclear instability.

I see what you are saying about one saving the other, saving another... etc. Still kind of loose in my book. After all "save the cheerleader, save the world" was one of the big build-ups of the whole season.”

“It would have killed him because of the whole "brain" issue. Remember when Peter fought Sylar and had that huge shard of glass in his head? He was dead until Claire pulled it out (Also Linderman was killed by D.L. "ripping" out his brain). I guess technically you could extract a bullet from his brain too, but I don't know. Seems like the only effective way to kill the "heroes" has something to do with their brains. That is why Sylar has to get at their brains, it is sort of how he "sees" how their powers work.
I did read that they are supposed to tell exactly what Sylar does to the brain early next season, but who knows. I guess they have to keep us guessing so we will spend too much time posting about the show on a camping message boards...
Either way you're right, the plot is fairly convoluted, but I have to say it is one of my favorite shows of all time.”

Most every TV show or movie is like a short story.  Every tidbit you hear is there for a purpose.  I just wasn't expecting the purpose to be such blatant product placement --- I guess I should know better!

It's like when I quit watching "Survivor"   < grin >   .... About halfway through the second one (Australian Outback?), and the folks were sitting around talking about what kind of food they missed.

Then the woman from Tennessee, who eventually won, said "I wish I had a Big Ol' Bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos!" and 20 seconds later,  BAM!  DORITOS COMMERCIAL.”

Does anyone remember those sneaky Coke commercials back in like the 70's or maybe early 80's. What was it called - "subliminal messaging" - where they would flash a coke ad for a nano second. Next thing you know, you're thirsty for a Coke!”

“To complain about product placement is silly anyhow. It makes the show more realistic, the networks get paid, and the producers get paid which all supports the show. Who wants to go back to the days when people drank beer that said "beer" on the can instead of an actual brand? If it means they are presenting it with limited commercial interruptions I don't care what placement they use.”
