My plans for a solo this weekend in the Gorge got hosed so I thought I might see if anyone wants to maybe meet up next weekend.

The loose plan is to camp at the big spot near Martin's Fork and then do whatever the hell ya want the whole weekend. My personal plan is to do the Auxier loop hike Saturday and time permitting maybe another small loop as well. The basic meet and greet type trip but if fewer people want to go a more back country plan can be arranged.

Gotcha, that's the one over by D. Boone's Hut. Boy, we were impressed with that, btw. I was thinking of an actual cabin instead of a chain link fence around dirt.

Damn I forgot it was the Superbowl weekend. Nice going Nig! The game doesn't start until late and if we're camped at nice big pine site it's a quick walk out and we can all be home in time to see the Big Game.

I couldn't care less about the game, dang I wish I could go. I may be able to sneek in a lowgap overnighter, or the Adena trace but can't get as far as the gorge, and neither could compare...

im 80% sure im going. i'll probably leave first thing friday morn. i might stop at the outfitter in lexington. its a little out of the way, but its big and has a lot of great stuff. i think we should stick with the plan of staying at martins fork both nights, cuz i want to be outta there early to have plenty of time to get back and see blue sunday bear-hunting season

Speaking of whiskey...

I am currently sitting enjoy a glass of the Macallans I started on at RRG last wknd. Its tasting quite nice too. Its some wonderful tonic for the headcold I have battled all wk.

I get a filling on sat at 8am and then Ma's bday shennanigins. I wanna head back this year for sure though. Maybe the ma's day hike with the wifey and the shootist. Oh yeah, and whiskey too.

Cool. I got a big ol' cast aluminum skillet for paddling trips and have wanted to try it out. I figure camping that close to the road now's the time. I'm going to do a Michigan dinner of Michigan Chicken and a six pack of Bell's Two Hearted Ale from a Michigan micro.

my goal tomorrow is to arrive early afternoon and then find the trail leading to the top of military wall. im not talking about the one that starts at martins fork (that goes to the bottom of MW). the trail to the top starts off of tunnel ridge road, about a mile or so west of grays arch trailhead. at least, according to one of my maps. depending on what time i arrive, i may do the hike first, then arrive in camp. i will email you my cell number in a minute

Count me in and give me detailed directions. I am driving in as far as I can. I discovered that I can put my splint on and wear my hiking boots as well. If this isn't a power hike, I can make it.
