I googled it and it is an antique stove, are you collecting or do you want to use it?

I'm looking at using it, you can pick one up on Ebay. they occasionally pop up. no O-rings, the whole this is metal. They still make it according to Zen Stoves. All I really know is that they are hand made in the Swiss. there are a few websites in other launguages. But I'd like some good old advise from hikers/campers here in the US.

any stove with "bomb" in it's name is suspect in my book, sight unseen.

Don't go by what you read on Zen Stoves.
That guy copied a bunch of my old website info and posted it as his own work.

That's because he removed much of it after repeated emails by me, and only after I embarassed him on another forum.
His whole attitude was "piss off, I can do anything I want".

Why would you want an old heavy monster like that for anything other than a collectable?
You still have to have an external pot stand.

Better, cheaper, and lighter stoves are out there.

The eBay price is up to $110.

if that zenstoves guy was smart he would put google adwords on his site. he would make a killing... at least cover his hosting costs but i bet a lot more. that site always shows up high in a google search.

That explains why Roam Around likes it. ;-)

i am back to wanting to know why it's called a "bomb"... i am betting it's not just because it looks like one.

Hello,

I actually have about 5 of these ... long story. Anyway from my experiance as to why they are call Borde "Bomb" is that you need to be careful while lighting them, if they get to hot and you have the fuel adjustment knob open to far the thing will start squirting fuel everywhere. It is difficult to turn off without getting the fuel on yourself. Once I had a flare up that was about 5 feet of pure flame. However once you figure out the lighting of the stove it actually is a great little stove that burns just about anything except alcohol and takes up minimal amount of space. It is a little on the heavy side ... but extremely durable and hard to break, minimal moving parts to wear out. Just takes a little patience and taking it slow when learning how to use it.
