WEDNESDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WILMINGTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TUESDAY TO 7 AM EST
WEDNESDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

SNOW WILL DEVELOP LATE TONIGHT WITH ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 4
INCHES POSSIBLE BY DAYBREAK TUESDAY...PARTICULARLY ALONG AND WEST
OF THE I-75 CORRIDOR. THE SNOW WILL CONTINUE ON TUESDAY AND TAPER
OFF TUESDAY NIGHT. WARMER AIR WILL BE DRAWN INTO THE REGION DURING
THE DAY...AND IS EXPECTED TO CAUSE SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN TO MIX
WITH THE SNOW. ADDITIONAL ICY ACCUMULATIONS OF 4 TO 6 INCHES ARE
POSSIBLE DURING THE DAY TUESDAY. AN ADDITIONAL INCH OF SNOW AND
ICE MAY OCCUR TUESDAY EVENING AS THE PRECIPITATION GRADUALLY
TAPERS OFF.

AT THIS TIME...SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 6 TO 10 INCHES IS EXPECTED
TO OCCUR OVER THE AREA. SOME SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN WILL ALSO
OCCUR...WHICH WILL CUT THE HIGHER SNOWFALL TOTALS BUT ADD SOME
ICY ACCUMULATIONS OF UNDER AN INCH. LISTEN TO NOAA ALL HAZARDS
WEATHER RADIO OR OTHER MEDIA FOR LATER UPDATES ON THIS SITUATION.

REMEMBER...A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER
CONDITIONS ARE IMMINENT OR HIGHLY LIKELY.

“I am still going on this trip which ever week end it goes, but postponing it to the week end after, to February 24th and 25th, would fit my schedule much better and might draw more people. The weather this week end in Branchville, Indiana is calling for a low of 22 and a high of 37. The typical average for February 24th & 25th there would be a low of 26 and a high of 52.”

I thought I was going to be able to make it. I got a job offer yesterday. I really, really liked the company, but the money is kind of low, and they only give 1 week of vacation. I think one of those things I could handle, but I really don't like the double whammy. I talked to the woman who extended the offer to me and told her my feelings. She is supposed to be getting back to me with possibly another offer, but she didn't sound very happy with what I said. I really don't like only one week off.”

“What about this, Those coming in on Saturday do their thing and the Sunday arrivals meet them at their camp somewhere neer a pseudo safe (for leaving cars) parking lot. That way we can all hike together on Sunday at least. Is there any way to work something like that out? I haven't even looked at a map of this trail yet, so I don't know. I am still a maybe, as I have to check the sitter situation, but Sun/Mon should be cool for me. I can't believe there are so many that want to hike on a week day! That's freakin awesome!”

“I moved my kids' birthday party to the weekend of the 25th so I could make this trip. I had planned on coming in early Sat, but if no one else is going early I will get to the trail head later Sat and meet ya'll at camp... or should I say meet Crash at camp :-)
I can't camp Sunday night and seems that's when everyone will be there. I might look for a trail closer to home to go to if no one else is camping Saturday night.”
