boot soles “I have found Vibram boot soles to be especially slippery when wet and/ or worn . In fact the knob system is particularly slippery as well . The more surface the better footing at least on icey /wet surfaces. Certain that experienced hikers have figured this out long ago . When I was younger and more agile it was a small point.” 10:43:41 AM 2/06/07 “I've never had a problem with vibram soles becoming slippery. The problem I've had is that as they wear they become water-absorbant, which makes them damned heavy in a wet hike.” 11:01:42 AM 2/06/07 “i love the vibram sole...if they are worn out you might want to look at getting them replaced...many of the shoes/boots with vibram soles have a lifetime warranty on the soles” 11:43:46 AM 2/06/07 “What Thrifty said.” 12:06:18 PM 2/06/07 “I want to buy some of the boots from the new Shirley McClain line of boots. Yeah, when the boots wear out the soles go onto other boots.” 12:10:27 PM 2/06/07 “LOL@Nigal if you get new soles on your boots, are they born again?” 12:12:00 PM 2/06/07 “No but at times when you are walking a trail you get a weird feeling like you've hike there before. LOL!” 12:14:05 PM 2/06/07 “Vibram worked pretty dang well for me years ago. I pretty much just use trail runners now.” 12:20:20 PM 2/06/07 “you know, stovie, they do put the vibrams on trail runners too...i've got a pair of merrels i love” 12:21:29 PM 2/06/07
