“Top-of-the-World Estates is a whole community above Happy Valley. It is situated near Look Rock Campground and the Foothills Parkway at the west end of GSNNP. It has been there a long time and even boasts a private lake and several private ponds. Gold Mine Trail leads up to the community from the Cooper Road Trail, 2.6 miles from the Abrams Creek Campground. The community has a number of newer places and plenty of older places. It is laid out along a ridge line and runs several miles. I have not experienced any distractions in the views from below in the Park all the way over to Cades Cove. Look Rock Tower is the only thing that I have noticed from a distance.

I, too, am against the building of homes that are meant to be seen. But, it appears that there can be a middle ground on the developments taking place.
