My wife and I have been devoted fans since the first season. Last season was the first one where we didn't keep up - we barely watched it in fact. We've already decided we're not even going to try for this one.

They've done the same thing to Survivor that they've done to other shows like Who Wants to be a Millionare, etc. etc. Suck it dry for all its worth by putting it on as much as possible. Millionaire went from occasional, to weekly, to several times weekly and then tanked because people got bored. Survior has been on so much its getting to the same brick wall. I think if they had stretched it out to fill a full TV year, maybe throwing in bonus episodes here and there, they could have kept it going for a very long time. This may be the last one - at most one more.

Jeff Probst was on one of the morning shows in the 7 am hour. I usually watch the start of these, and then stop after 4 episodes or so. One of the participants for Fiji grew up onthe beaches of Bali (I think) so he'll have an easier time regardless of which side he's on.

I watched the preview show on the TV Guide channel and it was interesting. One of the ladies quit the night before the game started.

I have the Tivo programmed !!

Also, I tried to get a Survivor game going here at work that plays along with the TV show. I couldn't get anyone interested...blah.

Watched every season except the last half of Australia--Jeri was just too annoying.

The survival skills I find amusing, but the deceit is the turn-on because that's one "skill" I think I'd find difficult to master.

I can't believe after all these seasons that the players don't go right out the day they get their acceptance letter and check out a book on wilderness survival. And then practice it. Its amazing how almost every one of them over the years hasn't even been able to start a fire with local materials, or build a survival shelter. Not saying I've ever done it, but c'mon, when you know you'll need to do it - and do it on national TV - learn it.

One season the winners of a reward challenge had a "local" show them all the different edible plants they could eat and how to cook them. As hungry as the players must have been, I was amazed when I never saw any of them put that knowldge to use. But then, maybe the producers simply chose not to show us that part.

[b][i] I gotta say I don't buy into all the hype like most do. Way too much tv-ism and not enough reality. I think it should be reality from start to finish and people should see it all without editing. Anyone know where you can find all the edited out material from seasons gone by? That would interest me.

crap!! No one at home will be recording this for me.

I did watch german 'american idol' though. It's called different, but has the same music, same simon like person, etc. funny to watch.

It was okay. There are some interesting people on. My fav so far is the little asian man who grew up in Borneo. He's cooler than cool.

The premise is one tribe gets everything they could ever want and the other gets nadda.

that Dreamz guy is too awful to keep around! Interesting that they found lots of different races this time.

I dig Yao man too. It was funny to watch all those buff guys trying to break up the box then he just goes - bing - and it opens.

Gem - I have it on tape. Stop by Cali on your way home from Germany!

I had Tivo recording "The Office" while I was watching Survivor.

Yeah, kind of boring this week. Those early votes can be so brutal because they are not as political as the ones later in the season. Early on, if you screw up they'll jump on you and vote your tail off the island!

I was busy trying to sew a straight seam...lol. It is hard to do when your machine doesn't have the removable arm so the material can go under it when you need to sew a seam in a circular pattern. Next time that seam gets sewn first

Pitiful, Pitiful
To see the difference between the haves and have nots this time- there are some of the healthiest looking contestants this far into the game. And some of the most pitiful. It was good that Sylvia got voted out because she really knocked herself silly when she fell back and hit her head on the "slide" challenge. Poor "Papa Smurf" hurt himself too, but the docs couldn't find anything wrong. Normally a guy his size would have lost 10-15 lbs in the first couple of weeks- he's plump as ever!

Am I the only one willing to admit that I am still watching this?

I think the dopiest thing is when they finish something then go back and someone explains what just happened "we were given the choice of moving to the other camp or going to tribal council...." yeah, we know that - we are watching the show, remember???

Are the losers losing because they are starving and living in the pits or because they are incompetent? Obviously the other tribe thinks that the nicer camp gives them enough of an advantage to be willing to stab someone in the back to keep it....

No, I'm still watching too. Cracked me up that all that tribe was pretty much willing to risk their necks for rice. Do you want to stay on Survivor or eat? They never stopped to think that it might be themselves going home. It was a bad choice to vote off another physically strong tribe member. I bet next week's challenges are even closer and the weaker team just might beat the cozy team.

It was interesting that the 2 women in the "tight group of 5" were able to get rid of one of the strongest women because they saw her as a bit of a slut....and that the 3 men went along with them...

I watched it and it is still boring. Not sure what they are looking for in contestants but these guys are weak so far.

sass, I did flip and watch some of the office..it was ok nothing great...maybe I just caught it at the wrong time.

It's a dirty job but someone has to do it!
Here we go again - anyone awake still???

Let's see what happens when one group who has been starving for 2 weeks trys to push a well-fed group off a slippery board. What a surprise that was!

I concur with Ewker.

What a lazy bunch of #&%!$ers. I haven't seen a single thing out of any of them. Bygod, if I was starving to death, I would be figuring a way to rustle up some grub.
