Yo Pennsy, who's the dork in the photo?

They mentioned Otter Creek Wilderness in the article, yay!

No I'm not coming out. I promised my daughter we would paint her bedroom this weekend and I can't disappoint her.

Ok then. I'll be doing some rock climbing with Pennsy tonight. If he doesnt give me the site location, I will let go of the rope!!
But first I will taunt him and make him cry like a little girl hanging way up high on the rope.

Hmmmm... is Pennsy trying to steal my publication thunder?? Congrats on the pic, hope to see it. I miss the OLP, such a good trail.

I'd like to go, but I don't have snowshoes.

Silly people. Like I said, my photo is NOT on the online story, hence no credit and hence, I have no idea who the dork is in the photo that is not mine. Mine is in the print copy which I should be receiving soon.

HA! I never cry in the climbing gym, but to safe, I think I'll be the official belayer tonight. If Crazypace behaves, MAYBE I'll give him directions to the secret site.

I read what you said that your pic is in the print copy... I'd think that's even more reason to get paid or at least your name in there for what I am sure is an extraordinary picture.
P.S. - if you get this message before you scramble off to the rock gym, give CP the story on Mountaineering school and see if he wants to join us.

Oh yeah, doesn't everyone have a pic of the mutant tree on the OLP?!?

Pennsy - didn't you just buy some Madshus Lillehammer track skis? Can't you use those for skating. You're such a gear whore...

Wow - so you're saying that you can actually try out ski's at Cascade ski center? They actually slap on a set of bindings on new skis to let you try them out... that does not compute!

I'm so sorry guys.. I got to join the wave.

Something came up and I won't be able to make the trip.

I gotta bail.

trip leaders aren't allowed to bail. But you made my decision easy. I'm gonna head up to the Dacks and schuss.

Bobo - yeah, you sorta can skate with track skis but they are different animals. Skate skis (from what I've read) are built different to allow better pushng off the inside edge and they don't use kick wax like track skis. There are other differences but if I like skating, I'll probably buy the skis. It seems more of a natural thing for me to do than kick and glide and it's so damn fast. Plus, it's a nice change of pace. Kick and glide for a while and switch to skating. Another thing, when I was skiing on trackless trails at Jacobsburg this week, skate skis would have been idel. Besides, I gotta spend some of that overtime money I made last week.

About trying out skis at Cascade; they don't actually let you try new skis, but they have a nice selection of rentals, many of which match up to what they sell.
