snowshoes in motion on the Loyalsock Tra il

“My friend Heath from my work and I are going to do the Loyalsock/Link Loop. Hopefully the snow will be deep enough to use the snowshoes.

My plan is to hike Saturday from Worlds End up around Sones Pond and Camp on the Loyalsock Creek near the Horsebridge.
Sunday, return to Worlds End via the Link Trail, passing by Canyon Vista.

“I don’t know what they have for snow out that way, but at my house in NEPA at 1700’ there is very little snow. In some spots there may be 3 inches and in other spots there is none at all. I was thinking of doing the Worlds End Loyalsock loop next weekend, so let us know what the snow situation is like out there.”

There is a pretty good amount of snow out there now. I think we're going to get atleast six inches here.

I thought I'd be farther along with my thesis research to finally get out on the trail this weekend, especially after I had to bail on FYAO too. The fact is that the manuscript writing is moving along slower than Phantom Soul in fullpack (heh heh - just kiddin' Buddy!) and I just can't screw this up. I am majorly stressed out about it and hoping that if I can make some headway, then sooner or later I'll reward myself by getting out on the trail with you guys.

I won't know until Friday what I'm gonna do but I am leaning towards the Dacks. One, the skiing conditions will be fantastic there and 2, I want to check out some skate skis. Cascade has a nice shop and they let you try out stuff before buying.

If I decide to join you boneheads later on Saturday, are you planning on camping at the secret spot? If you have to break trail all day, it might be a challenge to get that far.”
