“I'd like to look at your pictures from Glacier. If you could post the trail choices as well as your web albums I'd appreciate it. Trying to pick out a trail that's about 45 miles...loop or straight.” 6:19:18 PM 2/09/07 “No you wouldn't. I think you hate everyone in my photos. Accept maybe Ardwick. ;)” 7:08:19 PM 2/09/07 “Two of our hikes on the CDT in Glacier can be found at http://spiriteaglehome.com/cdt06%20mt3.html (2006) and http://spiriteaglehome.com/cdt%20mt3.html (1999) The photos from our summer trip in 1998 never made it online - just the journal is up. If we ever get settled again and get our pictures out of storage, we'll probably scan them into the journal.” 8:51:58 PM 2/09/07 “You need to see photo's? No you don't, just take the Highline up to Goat Haunt and then hike out through either Kintla or Bowman, trust me on this.” 9:36:17 PM 2/09/07 “I do trust you Bison. That good eh?” 10:13:28 PM 2/09/07 6:41:07 AM 2/10/07 “Yeah Dub, that good. But here's the pics anyways - http://travel.webshots.com/album/422166805NCPaCE http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/423774061BIbRvz http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/423857890QOiBcu http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/423918869BIYxyZ http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/423936104xHipTZ http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/423957675GBefrT” 8:58:17 AM 2/10/07 “Visit "kareengas" on Webshots if you'd like. I have a few pics there. Haven't posted them all. This was a glorious trip! Stayed at the Swiftcurrent Lodge first night. Mid August, 80ish daytime, and I don't think it ever got to freezing at night. Extremely comfortable. Hiked to Elizabeth lake foot (ELF) from Chief Mt as the Ptarmigan tunnel trail, our original starting trail above Swiftcurrent, was closed due to bear activity. E. Lake to Glenn Lake head (GLH)to Stoney Indian (STO)to Fifty Mt. (FIF) to Granite Peak (GRN). We were supposed to go back to Swiftcurrent from Granite but we follwed some bad directions and ended up on the road through the park. Hitched a ride back to Swiftcurrent. Saw both Black and Grizzly bears and deer tried to eat my T-shirt at Fifty Mt. Only trouble we had was in obtaining fuel for the Pocket Rockets. Can't fly it, none of the camp stores had any and the one outfitter we visited in St Mary's had plenty of MSR stovess but NO FUEL. We bought some Sterno and some great people managing the restaurant and lodge gave us some used cans. But the first group we encountered on their way out the first day gave us a brand new can and took the Sterno out for us. Sorry for the long story but this was by far one of the coolest trips I've ever made.” 9:43:15 PM 2/23/07 << back to Glacier 2007 page
