“Yep --- that TCPA is something else. I've been tempted to sue their butts a couple of times, but the calls tapered off dramatically (for me, at least) after the national do not call list went into effect.

Now all I seem to get are charities, various 'benevolent associations' and the occasional survey-taker.

LOL a couple of years ago we were getting the "National Firefighters Association" calls. So the gentleman on the other end starts telling my wife about all the NEAT stuff they do for local fire departments.

I get on the phone and he starts the same line. After a few minutes I ask how much they "distributed" to various County Fire Departments. He lists my County and says they gave "X" number of dollars.

Eventually it came out this is a UNION calling for funds. They use the Fire Department name and give a set amount to the Local Union and keep the rest.”
