What pack to buy?View MessagesViewing posts 1 to 5 of 5 messages posted.
They don't make 'em like they used to... “I have an approach pack I got in 1997. It is an Osprey Escapist, 2000 cubic inches. It's got the YKK #10 zipper all the way around for easy access. No extra straps, no silly water pouches that don't hold a bottle, no useless inner compartments that limit the capacity. It's just simply the best bomber daypack ever. Osprey no longer makes it. What pack do you all reccomend that would be similar? The only 2 brands that seem to come close are Arc'teryx and Deuter. Any other reccommendations? Cost is a non issue, if it works right. Probably in the $150.00 range...” 6:12:15 PM 2/17/07 “May want to look at some packs from ula?” 6:29:57 PM 2/17/07 “it's all matter of preference. they sure don't make them like they used to... they make them a lot better if you ask me.” 6:35:54 PM 2/17/07 “also the GoLite Jam2 Backpack is out now. you might want to check that out... very popular. (i had to remember how to make a superscript to fix this post on edit...) last edited: 2/17/07 6:43:10 PM” 6:40:50 PM 2/17/07 “Lowe Alpine Cotour 30 iffin they still make it.
