I'll have to chew on it for a while. ;)

Columbus to Chi-town is about 8 hours, give or take.

WAIT! Stop the presses. Let me see what I can work out. I might be in Rockford, IL for work at some point in Oct. If I can extend that into vacation..........

...updates on the trip page, all tentative, since people are getting a little further into planning (esp MsDolittle coordinating with a business trip on October). I have lots of details to work out and we can make the hike longer.

I have no clue where the good camp sites are. I know prosecutor has some good ideas. I also have not worked out first-night plans... perhaps just camp LNT off the trail a mile or so in.

At least this gives people some more to work with. I'll do more planning later next month.

I posted the images of the elevation profile directly on the trip page. If we split this up over 2.5 days and two nights I think it's reasonable for most people. I would like to spend more time hiking this trail but I know it's already two days off from work for most of us (Friday and Monday).
