Town Creek, Brunswick County, North Carolina
Over the MLK holiday in January the weather was beautiful and in the high 70's. So a coworker and I took our kids on a 16 mile canoe camping trip down a local creek. We had to sandwich the trip in between my youngest daughters basketball game on Saturday and my eldest's daughters school day on monday, so we only did 4 miles the first day and 12 the second.

Lots of pics that most people who weren't there won't care about. See them here:

Brianna is a beast on the defensive end of a basketball court. She hasn't worked on offense much, so she's still tentative there.

Where'd you put in and take out?

We put in at a wildlife dock off rice creek. Rice creek runs into town creek 2 miles south of where Town Creek intersects US 17. The take out was 16 miles downriver at NC 133. Another 1/2 mile or so would have put us into the Cape Fear River. We parked our car at The Gator Hole convinience store.
