Please don't tell me you bought thin mints and you store them in the freezer until July!

Nigal, I saw your recipe in the Lipsmackin Backpackin book. You dirt bagger, you!

My wife bought 10 frickin' boxes and we're both watching what we eat. WTF? Next time I'm going to have her just donate the price of the cookies. Cookies are like beer for me. Once i start there ain't no stoppin' til the beer/cookies are gone or I pass out. LOL!

That's one of my favorite recipes. I like to use the raman noodles for it after I pitch out the spice packet. I even make it at home.

Thin Mint fans I hate to tell you this

BUT...

I find the new chocolate covered (as in dipped in chocolate and totally covered) MINT Oreos might even be better than GS Thin Mints

AND AVAILABLE YEAR ROUND!!

I know... now you're blaming me for your fatness. LOL!

Here is the trick to not eating all of your Samoa's you dieting freaks.

Keep them in the freezer, take out no more than 4 at a time. Place them on the counter on a dish. Wait forever for them to thaw. (they are virtually unchewable otherwise, it is possible to loose teeth).

Get so tired of waiting you find something else to eat. Something healthier, like dinner and a salad.

Have two of the cookies later, you are too full from dinner to eat the other two. Put those back in the freezer.

This is how I look at these things.
If I burn 500 calories per hour when I'm hiking, and I hike 10 hours in a day, I burn 5000 calories.
That's 50 Coors Lights I can walk off in a day. Never done the math on a box of these cookie things. I think a bag of Fritos takes 3 hours of hiking.

Hey Lizs -- can you get the chocolate covered mint oreos without that white stuff in the middle?

Girl Scout cookies _now_ are extremely disappointing compared to the old cookies when I was growing up. They changed bakers and ingredients. I won't buy them anymore. But I 'll have to try the covered oreas. Those sound tasty.

I love the line from one of the Addams Family movies... Wednesday Addams asks "Are they made with real Girl Scouts?"

LOL, Jimmy San!

Tilt, I think they still have the white stuff in the middle. Just all covered in chocolate. And they ARE TASTY!!!

I've never tried the Oreos that are mint and have the green stuff in the middle and are not chocolate covered, so I can't vouch for them.

WARNING, WARNING -- you will be addicted!!

Yeah, I ordered Girl Scout cookies too. Fortunately they aren't here yet.

Last night I came up with a stellar marketing scheme for the Girl Scouts....

For one price they sell you the cookies.....for twice that amount, they won't deliver the #&%!$ers.

I give them money and let the scout choose the cookies she wants. I'd eat the entire box in a heartbeat. Heaven help us when Ab has to sell them next year!

Place yer orders early, right here on TT. =)

I wouldn't have eaten the box. I would have eaten the cookies.
You must be a cookie lovers dream spouse. Cookie lover gets all the cookies and you eat the box. Perfect recycling.

there is something worse...

if your spouse is a girl scout leader...

and she doesn't sell the cookies...

i literally have cases of cookies sitting around the house. i get a little hacked off when i think of all the cookies i have bought.

band candy anyone? 4-5 cases of that laying around as well. mint meltaways?

my resistance to these things is now VERY high.

we turned our unsold cookies back in to council...

I'm not a fan of Girl Scout cookies, and the one time my Brownies sold them, I swore we'd never do it again. The things are nothing more than flavored chemicals plus the troop gets less than 18%.

"Girl Scout cookies _now_ are extremely disappointing compared to the old cookies when I was growing up. They changed bakers and ingredients." - ramblinrev

And they are smaller than they used to be. I feel like its a bigger ripoff every year that goes by.

Yet my wife buys 10 boxes every year... and now my oldest is a Brownie. Great. I'll have no excuse for the next 10+ years.
