And Part 2 is well under way!

Ice overnight.

More ice predicted today, then turning to snow with up to 10 more inches predicted -- on top of the 23 we got over the weekend.

NASTY!

All the schools are closed.

Last weekend, we got snow on Thursday (4")and Sunday (6"). We were out of town so we didn't get to blowing snow til Monday morning. Then, by the time D and I were done w/ the drive, there was another fresh couple of inches which we just left there. I got to do some wonderful xc skiing that afternoon. The little guy and D followed on snowshoes. Sadie broke trail the whole way.

Today, we're looking at an inch or two during the day (90% chance). Then, tonight the forecast is for 9-11" (100% chance). With another 4-8" during the day tomorrow (100% chance).

I'm looking forward to it; it's been a disappointing winter up here in terms of snowfall. The neighbors all said we should expect tons of snow where we live, more than in the town of Marquette. But, it didn't happen (yet). At this point, they say we're 2-3 feet below the average snowfall for this time of year. I'm hoping the March Lion will make up for it...

A TT friend may be coming up this weekend for a visit and I know she'll appreciate the snowshoe and skiing opportunites!!

we're expecting a storm this weekend, yay!

I wish school AND work would be cancelled tomorrow, so I could stay home and play with the twiglets...

I am so happy...we've finally got the snow, perfect temps plus sun in the forcast so I'm going to take a solo, snowshoe winter camping trip...YES! I would have gone if the temps were lower and no sun just to play in the snow...

To VioLiN:
I have never seen that much snow in my life!

Can someone tell me where that is?
I have hardly seen any snow this winter, because we haven't had much of a winter this year. We got lot's and lot's of rain last night and some hillsides are sliding down on the roads.

the goat, LOL, I'm not a big fan of snow anyway!!! So yes, I've had enough.

That said, dryfoot and I are looking at a moonlight snowshoe hike Saturday. Starting in the afternoon, so hopefully it will be clear to see the last part of the lunar eclipse at sunset/moonrise. Dunno 'bout camping, though!!

We got more snow overnight... and will get more today. I-90 was closed from Albert Lea, MN to S.D. border, and from I-35 from Albert Lea to Ames, IA. Guess I-80 was closed in places, too. According to TV, likely from 7-9"??

Here's a glimpse of Rochester weather for ya. Pick any camera!!

Snow Storm He!!. I am still recovering from the ice storm last weekend. I have been without power for 6 days now. My yard looks like someone dropped a bomb on it. I will have enough fire wood for a year when I get it cleaned up. I went home at lunch to check on my generator. It is big enough to run only our furnace. There were 7 power company trucks in front of our house so maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel. Thank God we missed all the snow they got in northern and central Iowa.

Euro Hike - Those photos were from Oswego, NY. They're just east of Lake Ontario - The moisture just keeps feeding snow there all winter.

It was pretty messy here yesterday. Only 2 of my co workers made it to work in my group of ten. They ordered in lunch for us so we wouldn't have to leave, & let us go at 1:30. Found out today that those who actually worked get their full 8 hours pay plus time-and-a-half for the hours they were there. Not too bad! (Although those who stayed home are getting paid eight hours for nothin' - grrr!) Thought I might have to break out the snowshoes to make it to work this morning, but once I dug my van out of the snowplow pile it decided to go. We got about a foot of snow with gusty winds.

This weekend was a wonderful winter wonderland in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The snow began falling on Thursday night and by Saturday afternoon, just before our friend came to enjoy the snow with us, well over two feet had fallen. We spent Sunday hooked to our snowshoes; climbing Sugarloaf Mtn, exploring Harlow Lake and playing at Presque Isle Park. It was a great day!

Snow makes me smile.

It made the lil guy smile, too. He had a snow day on Friday.
