“I just spent nearly two hours shoveling!!!!! !!!!!!!!! Crikey! I haven't shoveled that much in years!!! And it's like this: 1. Ice 2. Couple, three inches snow. 3. Half inche layer ice. 4. 10-12" heavy, wet snow. Well... where there wasn't a two-foot drift, that is. Damn, I nearly keeled over!!! Remind me next time I park the Jeep off the street, in back of my place, to park it a little closer to the alley. SHEESH!!!!! How much extra shoveling that cost me!!! Now, to see if I can get the Jeep out. First attempt, pre-shoveling around it and to the alley, I got stuck. Then I got it out. Now to see how it will go on that ice on the ground. grrrrrrrrrrrrr........” 3:10:33 PM 2/25/07 “You should of just waited until it melted.” 3:19:36 PM 2/25/07 “You're waisting yer breath, pross. I'm sure she's busy ice skating at the moment... hehehee!! Complainer! When I was at AmyG's I volunteered to shovel. It was deep, but powdery and light as a feather. I shoveled trails from the steps to the stable and to the neighbors house! Shoveled off the sundeck, too.” 3:37:46 PM 2/25/07 “its now snowing here.” 3:50:02 PM 2/25/07 “Well, I drove around, took some photos. First put on my snowshoes at the yet-to-be-cleared overlook of town on the highway. hehehe... felt super special to take that 3 ft. climb up the drift and then be walking on top of it! Back to Jeep, took some more photos around about. Back to town, parked by the city shop, maybe a quarter mile from bike trail. Snowshoed on down, looking forward to treading that untrod trail and getting some nice shots of the still-open, pretty trout stream beside by it. So what happens???? As I'm almost there a vehicle pulls up, parking right on the road. I'm thinking, "A friend??" ... "Someone wanting to talk to a snowshoer??" NO. It's a girl with two dogs. Beat me to the trailhead, having to park right by it, on the road, where there's no parking. There went the dream of the untrodden trail and a peaceful snowshoe. Indeed. Two dogs were running all over. I did have to laugh at this: the girl was postholing up to her knees. LOL! I took some pictures near the stream, where luckily the dogs hadn't run (avoiding dog poop on the way down). I went back up on the trail and a dog promptly came back and jumped up on me. I wanted to go farther down the trail, but then she headed that way, so I returned from whence I'd come, trying to salvage a bit of peace in the snow. It's amazing what having that happen does to a ready-to-acknowledge-and-enjoy-nature frame of mind. (OK, so I shoveled for nearly two hours and am CRANKY!! LOL!)” 6:08:47 PM 2/25/07
