Need information about the Beartooth/Abs arokas

“We are planning a trip west and are looking into the Beartooth/Absaroka area in Wyoming and Montana. Specifically the Martin Lake/Elain Lake/Granite Lake loop. Any information on the area in regards to fishing and solitude would be greatly appreciated.”

“I was just talking about the Beartooth Mountains with a friend just yesterday. He had been out there in the 70's and described to me the Beartooth Pass and the Bear's Tooth. The highest point in Montana (Granite Peak, 12.8K ft) is in the Beartooths. Sounds like a beautiful place! I've never been in that area of the country (yet). I'm coming with ya squirrelbait, when we goin'?!?”

“The Beartooths are my backyard up here in Yellowstone. They still have snow and frozen lakes up there a month or two after everywhere else thaws out. It's beautiful, rugged, has the highest mountains in Montana, and many of the trails are virtually empty most of the year! I love this place!
Also, the trout fishing in many of the high streams in the beartooths is excellent!
