i am so excited for both of us. she'll finally have a true understanding of life and i'll get more stuff out of my house.

can you even begin to imagine how clean the bathroom counter will be without all of her makeup, nail polishes, perfumes, hair condiments, (LOL! i made that one up), brushes, combs, hair dryer, hair straightener and curling iron, various hair clips, earings, all kinds of doodads. WAHOOOOOOO! i'll be able to set my glasses and watch down!

finally, ErinAnne's roomate finished turning in his paperwork, (his place of work was holding things up), and all three of them have an address and move in date! Yeah! as of May 15th, i'll be down to one child! an interesting sidenote, her roomates are going to have a baby in October! ha ha. now ErinAnne will get to see what it's like to have a kid without actually having one of her own.

You might have to wait for time travel to become feasible.

But the verb tenses --- Oy.

LOL...my best friend has a 28 year old son. Two weeks ago junior moved out. Got mad at mom and dad for not financing his life.

The funny part is they are selling their house and moving to a smaller place where they have a couple of SMALL spare bedrooms with tiny closets...just so the kids won't come back.

Kids grow up and move out. Three of my four are moved out and two are out of the area. I miss them a lot.

I moved out when I was 17. I could not stand living at home, although I loved my parents and we got along pretty well. I was just fiercely independent and as soon as I figured out that I didn't HAVE to live it home I was outta there... moved into a real dump... my share of the rent was $90/month and it didn't have heat... not really missed in Louisiana.

I moved out when I was 17 as well and soon found myself living in a $2 billion residence.

See, it makes me thing... my 12 year old... if he is a lot like me... he might be moving out in 5 more years. I can't even deal with the thought of him driving.

I left home right after high school to go to college out of the area and have been on my own ever since. I visited my family about half the weekends the first three years. The part I missed was not growing up with my younger siblings.

One of my favorite things now is to be around my family. My son has been able to join me for Sierra trips the last 3 years. I really enjoy that.

Funny stuff. I packed up my motorcycle in Western NY, couldn't wait to get to SO. Cal.

Stacia is 18 and is gone for an extra long weekend with a friend. It's really her first time this far away completely on her own.

I hope she has a great time and comes back with lots of stories. But, I hope she doesn't get the "bug" to leave like I did. I'm not ready yet.

nowslimmer it might be sad if she were moving far away, but she is only the next street down; if i step out the front door and walk about 15 feet i can see where she lives down the hill. it's her biggest step into independence and i am proud that she is taking it, proud that i may have had anything to do with it. i am happy for her and happy for myself. 3 kids down, 1 to go, WAHOOOOO! we are not raising children, we are attempting to raise adults.
