May 31, 2007... Mount Rainier National Park will NOT be accepting reservations for attempts to hike the entire Wonderland Trail for the 2007 summer season. The Wonderland Trail suffered major trail and tread damage as a result of the November 2006 flood event. Repairs are underway, but uncertainty remains as to the timeline of completion on several projects, particularly bridges over hazardous river crossings. The Park will continue to accept advanced reservation requests for short portions of the Wonderland Trail that currently do not have unresolved issues. Essentially, advanced reservations may be made for trips that do not cross Tahoma Creek, the North Puyallup River, Winthrop Creek or Stevens Creek.”
