Mountainrunner's tent blew awayView MessagesViewing posts 1 to 30 of 30 messages posted.
“Mountainrunner had his tent set up in the backyard - - may I mention his newest tent just purchased a few months ago. I walked by the window one minute and it was there. A few minutes later the rainfly was on the ground and no tent in sight... hmmm??? After throwing on my boots and trekking through neighbors yards, I found it - in a TREE about a half mile away.... geez....” 2:36:12 PM 3/10/07 “Did you ask that tent eating tree if it had seen any of Charlie Browns kites? I hope it didn't have too many holes in it. My condolences on your loss.” 2:39:18 PM 3/10/07 “Knowing Mountainrunner and his gear, he would have laughed...... .....or cried. Could have gone either way :)” 2:42:53 PM 3/10/07 “I assume Mountainrunner was in the tent and someone finally found a way to do away with him. What did the police say? LOL.” 2:49:49 PM 3/10/07 “Remind me not to ever share a tent with this person.” 3:09:01 PM 3/10/07 “magic tent ride...................” 3:23:39 PM 3/10/07 “The tent eating tree was rather nice to the tent... no holes that I could see... but a couple of people on snowmobiles got a good laugh at me trying to get it out!!! And mountainrunner doesn't even know yet... and if that was the way I planned on doing away with him - it woulda been a lot farther from the house and a lot higher up in the tree :)” 3:27:44 PM 3/10/07 “It makes me wonder what sort of weather you've been having --- a bit breezy, perhaps?” 4:22:42 PM 3/10/07 “LOL That's too funny. Wish you had gotten it on camera. I set mine up in the livingroom to check it out. Let me tell you, that Kelty Gunnison 4 is HUGE!” 5:34:19 PM 3/10/07 FRAUD! “Warning: This is the F.B.I posting on behalf of Mountainrunner. First of all, we would like to inform all of you that Mountainrunner's tent is fine and was never in danger of any type. Allegations of it being found some distance from his house are totally false and misrepresented. There was an appearent attempt to take the tents life. Luckily, the evil plot was foiled before it could be put into motion. Mountainrunner and the tent rest peacefully at home tonight unscathed. Names of those involved in this matter cannot be released at this time. If you would like to send flowers AND money, please send Mountainrunner an email and he will help facilitate the movement of funds from your accounts. Mountainrunner did want us to LET YOU know he really does not care for flowers but would truly appreciate your money. Thank You, the F.B.I” 7:25:55 PM 3/10/07 Remember “Tent stakes don't kill tents, people do.” 7:34:24 PM 3/10/07 “At least you didn't get that phone call demanding 10,000 lb of fertilizer if you ever wanted to see your tent again.” 7:39:17 PM 3/10/07 “Alrighty! Polygraphs for everyone!” 7:58:59 PM 3/10/07 “Dang it... camera would have confirmed the incident. Maybe next time I'll just leave it there if Mountainrunner doesn't appreciate the valliant efforts to save his tent :)” 9:05:20 PM 3/10/07 “Always remember: 'No good deed goes unpunished!'” 10:53:02 PM 3/10/07 “Tilt, did you just get out of the musical Wicked?” 10:55:49 PM 3/10/07 “oh... That's a classic truism from way back. One should always harbor a sizable collection of ad-libs and be ready to trump one up at the drop of a hat, *G*” 11:07:53 PM 3/10/07 “I will try and remember that Tilt... but now I can't get the song from Wicked out of my head...” 11:16:57 PM 3/10/07 “Honeybunches, did you say you can't get Wicked out of your head or the "wind" out of your head? Is that the whistling sound I hear?” 7:50:57 AM 3/11/07 “ooooooo, I can see why she puts your tent in a tree w/ talk like that! ;) Thanks for the laugh!” 7:54:53 AM 3/11/07 “Hehe, that'll get her fired up ;)” 7:56:06 AM 3/11/07 “The Flintstones theme always works wonders clearing those other tunes out, lol” 8:27:08 AM 3/11/07 “Uh huh... and the next time any of mountainrunner's gear blows away, falls into a lake or off the side of a cliff, I will just wave as it goes on by... eh, who am I kiddin', I'm not that mean. Or wait... maybe just a wee bit selfish - cause if the tent goes, I have nothing to sleep in either :)” 9:02:41 AM 3/11/07 “Didn't Mountainrunner lose a hat or something to the wind recently somewhere on or near the North Shore?” 9:23:50 AM 3/11/07 “your lucky the wind was not blowing toward my house I can use a tent” 9:50:09 AM 3/11/07 “I told Mountainrunner he is lucky the wind wasn't blowing the other way... there is a fence with barbed wire at the top on the other side of the yard.” 3:57:31 PM 3/11/07 Be kind to your women folk “We were in Yosemite a few years ago when we noticed the tent next to us start to blow away. Amy chased it down and put it back in their site with a rock on one of the tie outs. When the guys got back she told them what happened and said they better stake it out or they were going to lose it again. The guy gave her that...*thats nice little girl, but we be men and we know how to camp* condescending look and didn't so much as thank her. Later they took off for more climbing....the winds picked up and we watched the tent blow through the camp grounds. We considered grabbing it, but thought it over and decided, Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. The last we saw it, it was heading for the river. When they got back they began freaking out about their missing tent. The came over and asked us if we knew where it went. Amy wet her finger, held it up, looked toward the river and said...well, that depends on how fast the river is running, I'm guessing 1 maybe 2 miles down stream, if it doesn't snag on something. The SOB's still didnt thank her.” 5:08:59 PM 3/11/07 “Beauty --” 6:57:15 PM 3/11/07 “mtnsteve, i am so loving this story! can't tell you how many times i have seen this look from men and even boys.” 12:30:40 AM 3/12/07 “Thanks mtnsteve, at least someone appreciates the work us women do!!! :)” 1:43:39 AM 3/12/07
