Goto Trip Page: Happy Birthday Earth Day EVENT!

Just found out about this event on Saturday, April 28, Earth Day.

So the other trip I had posted is out (not too much response to it), and this is IN!

The day -- Saturday, April 28 -- will open with geocaching and picking up trash in Lanesboro. (I'm trying to work with an area geocaching addict/expert and the event organizer to get this set up as a loggable CITO event.)

OK, will post more as I know more. We could camp in the area Saturday night... and maybe also Friday night!

Saturday night this explorer will speak:
Featured Speaker:
7:00 P.M. - Arctic Explorer Eric Larsen of
One World Expedition & Greenpeace - “Project Thin Ice: Pulling for the Planet”
Eagle Bluff ELC Auditorium
$5 suggested donation
All proceeds will benefit Eagle Bluff’s 2010 Sustainability Campaign

For info on the day, go here:

lol, yeah, you just come on over (far, far over) for our event, Marmotstewpie!

:-)

Also.... canoes are being provided to clean up part of the Root River, including a stretch we canoed on the Root River trip last summer.

Hey you geocachers, or geocaching wanna-bes. This event is this Saturday.

Includes 28 caches in and around Lanesboro, as well as two new ones at Rushford. If I'm remembering right, at least four of these caches are NEW and will be available for first-time-finds on Saturday.

All cached can be logged on www.geocaching.com

Temp caches are logged as attending the event (above and beyond the log you can make for attendance) -- and then listing the temp. cache name.

Be sure to bring a camera, paper and pen/pencil. Some will require taking a picture to be e-mailed (to claim the find), while others will ask you to answer a question and e-mail the answer.

Of the five I placed, you'll have a nice walk in the woods for a couple -- get that heart working a little. LOL!
