Hi! What a beautiful day it has been in Melbourne, Florida. I would tell all about the many things that I’ve done today, but, while enjoying the wonderful weather, I’ve forgotten almost everything.

So, let’s see. Confusion set in early today. Somehow I thought it was Sunday. The pool hall opens at 11 AM, Mon. – Sat., and at 1 PM on Sundays. So I was two hours late there for some of their “Cadillac Coffee.” I drank some coffee, watched some pool shooting, engaged in some conversation and came home. I believe I then did a lot of nothing, which included taking a nap. I did get up in time to go to the health club and enjoy a nice swim of about 40 minutes. Then, after a nice hot shower, I stopped at the pool hall again. It is nice these days. Each year after DST starts, people find other things to do and the pool hall is mostly deserted. So, after a short spell I headed home again. But this time I got my bicycle out and rode around the campus, err, around the trailer park. The sun was setting and it was gorgeous. A few clouds way in the west were breaking up the sunlight into rays. But, since clouds move and the sun was dropping, each time I looked the view was different. Each view was great. As I neared my street, the sun dropped below the clouds and painted the bottoms of the clouds bright red and orange. I reached home, placed my bicycle inside and sat out front enjoying some relaxation. The Garrison Keillor program could be heard from my computer inside the trailer. It was warm and I was wearing my TT T-shirt that HumanPackMule arranged, ordered and distributed to us. I had on some new, backpacking pants that almost matched in color. I picked up two pair of the pants on sale for less than $20 each recently on the web from Campmor.

The trees across the field across the street blocked most of the falling fire of the sun from my view. I could have moved down the street a little ways to watch it drop between some of the trees, but there was no need. Different views are available every day. I did notice that the sunsets are moving further north each day. It makes me think of how civilizations have tracked the sun and the stars for thousands of years. But the recent progress in Astronomical Studies is utterly amazing. Besides, my dream girl came past a couple of times as she did her evening walk around several blocks of the Park. She recently returned from a year or so up in Virginia or somewhere. She had returned there to her ex-husband, but now she is back here. So I guess things did not work out for the two of them. We talk a little at times, but that is it. I would make a pass at her, but what can I offer since viagra did not work sufficiently for me. She definitely is not yet a Senior Citizen or even close to it. So she had to have been living in the Park when it went for Sr. status and, thus, is grandfathered-in. It would be nice to have someone to hug at times here.

Well, I watched the tops of the trees moving in the breezes and the few birds that passed. During the day many birds like to sit on the telephone wires above me. At least five jets passed headed north very high in the sky. They were well spaced with no more that two in view at any one time. Actually, I could not see them, only their white contrails forming and disappearing shortly afterwards. Finally, some fluffy, white clouds in the distance took on a rose color on their bottoms as the sun tried to highlight them. And a small distant cloud very high in the distant sky light up in a bright red color. Then, sudden-like, the show was over. The sun was down and the clouds turned dark. Night was closing in. So I wandered inside and started to type, as dinner cooked in the microwave.

Life can be wonderful. It is so amazing how radio.com can lift me to different places and thoughts of past events in my life. And, for example, Lizs, you can expect some rain showers this evening and throughout the night. She is probably camping somewhere. You just gotta love that girl. Garrison’s program is over and Minnesota Public Radio.com just had Emanuel Ax playing the piano arrangement of Franz Joseph Haydn’s , “Piano Sonata No. 47.” That made me think of New York, since treebeard enjoys Emanuel Ax.

I just looked at MPR’s schedule to see what numbers might be on store for this evening. But they will only reveal what has been played and what is being played currently. The *&(^%$ RIAA wants too much money to release that information. They are not actually worried that someone might set-up to record the music, they just want to blackmail companies for every penny possible. WQXR.com still lets people know the full day’s schedule, but the owner, the NY Times must be paying an enormous amount of money for doing it.

Well, that's it! That's how I enjoyed the first part of this weekend. Hope you're enjoying your weekend.

It's amazing, isn't it, how much beauty there is in the moment if we just slow ourselves down. It's what I like about living in the woods and being retired, plenty of opportunity to experience what you described so eloquently.

Thanks Paul!

I was out camping Friday night and helping raise money for a big trout sculpture Saturday night.

And, speaking of Garrison Keillor and his program... guess where he's doing a show... errr, TWO shows... this summer?

Thanks, Liz. Do you think he'll mention Rhubarb on that program.? That was interesting; rhubarb shirts, the Rhubarb Sisters, the rhubarb stalk throw, rhubarb Olympics and balancing an egg on a rhubarb stalk, known as "green eggs and rhubarb."

I'm glad they "decided to keep the gopher bounty the same." I wish they would outlaw hunting on Ground Hog Day, as well.

Thanks for updating me on the local news. I have been neglectful in keeping up to date on all the important events. TT needs a thread for "Minnesota Happenings."

Inspired by NS, I got out rode my bike for an hour before the storms came back in. Within minute of finishing, the rain and snow started, soon followed by lightening and thunder. If the storm timing is right, we could have a nice sunset.

Well, jumping gee willeckers!, such a thread could include some of the neighbors, too. I was not forgetting Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, Illinois and Indiana. But the only outstanding, available editor with whom we could stick this project, just happens to live in Minnesota. One has to be respectful of one's resources.

Perhaps, it could be "Upper Mid-west Happenings."

Minnesota sorta does SUCK. :-) Iowa rules. Too bad I live in MN, where they pay gopher bounties and yet name their college team after the rodent.
