“Are there any good maps online for the Caney Creek area?

This one really came in handy for the last trip. Caney creek is south of this area, correct?

How long does it take from ATL?”

“gojo - I'm 2 hrs from ATL and it's another hard 2hrs to Sipsey. By hard it means upper 70's on the interstate. Our friendly I20 state troopers like Metro ATL car tags, btw.”

“I had some little old ladies from church aske me what we did for bathrooms on the these trips. This was specifically in ref to the one my wife went on at Roan Mtn. I told them we have these little orange shovels we use. The look of horror on their faces was priceless.”

....from Hwy. 33:

Turn west on Hwy 2 and travel approximately 3.5 miles until you get to an old forest road turn off on your right:


I'm assuming those directions are heading South on Hwy 33.

“Coming from HWY 33 it is 3.6 miles to the parking area. It is easy to drive by if you're not careful. Here's a couple of other "landmarks" to help find the parking area. About 1/2 mile before the parking area there are two old chicken houses on the left that are constructed from huge red tile brick. The mailbox just before the parking area has the numbers 9915 painted on the side.
