“As a recent transplant, I wonder how many here realize how over-regulated everything is. There is a ridiculous amount of stupid rules for everything, and the enforcement alone has to cost a fortune. I'd bet if half of the regs were scratched off the books arbitrarily, there'd still be too many rules but we'd all be better off.

California was populated by people willing to come work for a living. The current government is doing their best to drive off all the business and opportunity. Without industry there is no tax base.”

“That's the problem - when there were lots of goods produced and money made in this state, it seemed like a good idea to have a huge government that gave lots of handouts. Now there's no one left to pay for that stuff. They've all gone to Texas or some other place that encourages industry and taken lots of good jobs with them.”
