“Since most of us missed it thanks to weather, thought we'd try again this weekend if the weather is better. It's supposed to be back to 62F with some rain but we'll just see how it is when it gets closer. I have +1 for sure and +3 maybe.”

“I'll have to see what this week holds for me. I'm in IL for business the entire stinkin' week, then I have to get some trail magic in the mail when I get home Friday/Saturday.

“Ok, I'm putting myself on the list of bailers. Count me in, until the last minute. Dub, the old lady will probably have to work. Let me know when you plan on leaving. I'm trying to plan ahead this time.”

“If the weather looks like it's gonna be bad or cold then yeah I might have to bail since I planned on bringing newbies who don't have all the best gear. But maybe I'll just tell the newbs they gotta stay home.

“I *might* make this trip. I will know for sure either way on Monday after I get to work. I'd really like to go.

I don't have a map for this place and if I recall correctly I couldn't find one at any of the local places last time I went out looking. Are there any online I could print out?”

“I'll tell ya what, this working every other weekend is really putting a crimp in my hiking. I'm used to going out hiking one weekend a month but now that's half my weekends. I'm already booked out to midsummer now. Wish I could make it.”

“There were a buttload of maps at the BP trailhead 2 weeks ago. I took a couple.”

“Yeah, it's looking like I'm not going to make this trip. Since I'm working today (Easter), I promised my mom and dad I'd go home to see them next weekend. It will be the last weekend I see them for a couple of months.

“Dub, either way is fine. I'm thinking if I go I may end up renting a car. I'm just keeping all my options open right now. I have to bring my son though, so I'm hoping the weather improves.”

“Sweet. That's even better. We'd like to go down Friday night and camp but that depends on the others in my group.”

“I want to attend, but have to work on Saturday. This April has been very busy. However, I did a quick overnighter at Zaleski last weekend and had a good time. Got drenched on the short hike out Sunday morning, it was raining buckets! A nice hot shower at Lake Hope SP made me feel human again. Still want to do Vesuvius & Archers Fork this spring/summer.

“Vesuvius is still in the running for May 5-6. I'm 100% definitely hiking somewhere that weekend. Archer's Fork is just too much of a haul from Cincinnati. I can be at RRG or BSF in the time it would take to get out there. Right now it's either Vesuvius, Tar Hollow or back to Shawnee in the running.”

“Bigben keep me updated on Vesuvius, I might be available that weekend.”

“The old lady's riding my ass about the weather. I don't have a 2 person tent so I was going to pitch a tarp for me and my son. Apparently a tarp isn't good enough for her. I might be out of this one if the weather doesn't get better.”

“I just sent an email before checking the forum. I have a two person tent you can borrow. See you tomorrow evening ;-)”

“So, who went on this trip and how did it turn out?”

“It ended up being just me and Troy. Friday night was great, beautiful view of the stars...then around 3am the rain came...it got colder...and that's the way it stayed. We ended up packing up and heading out. We went and checked out the forest roads to see where they went and then drove over to Vesuvius to check it out and did the same then came home.

I'm thinking of doing the Upper Loop the first weekend in May, interested?”

“Schedule just isn't meshing, Dub. It's my only weekend home between Cumberland Gap (last wkd in April) and I leave for the Grand Canyon the weekend of the 11th.

Gotta go see Mom since I'm missing Mother's Day.

I'm backpacking pretty much the rest of the month. I want to see what June brings my way. I can't complain, really.”
