“I don't care for going to the movies much. It's got to be quite the movie to get me there. I think 300 was the last movie that made me want to actually go to the movies. And I ended up not even going to see that. A Movie like Hero or LotR or Harry Potter is what I save theater trips for.”

“grindhouse is 2 movies back to back. When it goes to DVD they will be separate from each other. The thing about grindhouse is its a throwback to pulp movie days and even in their heyday they weren't big sellers, they just had avid followers. So it isn't surprising that it isn't going to be the blockbuster they hyped it up to be.

I think Pan's (Fauns) Labyrinth is the bast movie made this or last year, but thats just me. I saw it again Monday night at a hippy theater in Asheville for $2. That place rocked, if I lived in Asheville that would be my second home.”

“I kinda like Tarantino because the intentional cheesiness behind his movies are kinda what makes him off the beaten path.

From what I read about it, I think Grindhouse is more of an experience than a movie. This is the kind of movie that should be watched in like the dumpiest basement theater in town in order to get the full effect. In fact I remember that one review said -- I think it may have actually been the New York Times -- that it's too bad we don't have the technology to recreate the smoke-filled haze in the projector beam...”

“Asheville Pizza & Brewing Co. would be a cool place to watch Grindhouse. Its a hippy pizza joint in the front of an old theater. That place would be cool. You can drink beer and eat cheesefries, nachos, pizza, etc while you watch. Not sure about the smoke-filled haze unless the crowd decided to all light up their doobies. When your food is ready they call out your name and you go to bar at the back of the room to get it. Every once in a while you would hear them call out I. P. Freeley or Seymore Hiney.”
