LattaOutdoors.com relaunch

“Ok, I've gone and done it again. I've revamped the Latta Outdoors website. In the past, I use to sell gear and maps from that site, but I've decided to change things up a bit. While thebackpacker.com is only about backpacking (and political talk), I want Latta Outdoors to be about all active outdoor sports: hiking, biking, climbing, paddling, etc. I am hoping to create a community similar to thebackpacker.com, but on a broader range.

I've still got links to buy gear, but now the focus will be on an outdoor guide setup as a wiki. So that means everyone can help share their knowledge. I also have started collecting postings from outdoor blogs. So you can go to one central place to read lots of different blogs at one time. And finally, there is a message board for everyone to duke it out.

Latta Outdoors is different than thebackpacker.com, this was on purpose. I decided to test some new ideas on LO, and if they work, possibly move those ideas back to thebackpacker.com. The message board program is different, so tough. But it has a lot of features that people have wanted on TT for a while.

I encourage others to do likewise.

Others who feel the same way, maybe we can work together to build a new board that meets our expectations.�
