my dad has been there since last wednesday, came from the nursing home with pneumonia, bladder infection, and tia's(mini-strokes). they were doping him up too much at the home and he couldn't clear his throat and it went into pneumonia, they weren't keeping him clean and he had a bad bladder infection and they didn't recognize that he was having the mini strokes. so i had to find another place for him.
now back to the V A hospital, what a great place we have for our veterans. thanks to our u s congressman, bill young, we have one heck of a place for our vets! he has received excellent care at this facility. with all that is in the news it's good to see that our system in in good working order. the camaraderie of the caregivers is remarkable, we have grown close to several of the vets and their families.
this is a very rough time in my life, my dad has dementia and it has progressed into alzheimer's. he thought that they should send him back overseas so we could come and visit him. yesterday it was about dogs and gasoline, not sure of what that connection was about. its very sad to see your loved one in this condition.
i feel the need to get out in the woods and clear my head. sorry to ramble, guess i better go over to the posting drunk thread!

For sure, Cyndee. Stomping through the woods has saved my sanity more than once.

As a former 20year user of the Veteran's Hospital/Clinic system, I've had both good and bad experiences. I am glad that it is working for you and your Dad cyndee.

God Bless
