“I will have from this friday off of work untill the monday after the buttcave trip so i'm thinking of doing some packing in the area....if the weather is nice. I've never been there, what are your favorite trails?” 6:08:30 AM 4/11/07 “The weather is forecast to be very nice (60's and 70's and dry) around here this coming weekend, its trillium, ramps and Carolineaum rhododendron blooming season (at least at the lower elevations). Last weekend, there was snow. last edited: 4/11/07 6:54:42 AM” 6:51:57 AM 4/11/07 “hmmmmmm that sounds very nice!!!!” 10:30:58 AM 4/11/07 “Looks to be cold Sunday. see http://www.averyweather.com/Forecast/Crossnore Pick a trail. Not sure which is favorite. The gorge is a vertical place. Have fun” 12:30:49 PM 4/11/07 “"linville gorge" is not a question. it is a subject. only retarded monkeys put question marks at the end of sentence fragments either conley cove or pinch-in trail, whichever one is further south, is absolutely stunning, as well as extremely rugged and steep” 3:31:09 PM 4/11/07 “Pinch In” 5:33:35 PM 4/11/07 “It was dreary and wet today, but my daughter and I made a quick stop to check out Linville Falls today on the way back to Wilmington from Asheville. I love those short easy trails :) with great views.” 10:17:18 PM 4/11/07 anyone going backpacking soon? “I am going to the gorge for a weekender on the last weekend of this month.” 7:38:12 PM 4/15/07 “Saturday was OK in the Linville Gorge area but the weather turned bizarre early Sunday with hail and thunderstorms, heavy rain, then temperatures dropping to 30 with heavy wind driven snow. Still very windy this morning.” 6:37:33 AM 4/16/07 “I am headed there this weekend, 20-22.” 9:09:28 AM 4/16/07 “Well, was my forecast a little off? Saturday wasn't bad but Sunday afternoon, I visited my mountain property about 2 miles upstream from the Linville Falls and what was a thunderstorm midday turned into plunging temps. and a white-out of wind -driven, rapidly accumulating snow by 4:00 which would have also been occurring all along the rim of Linville Gorge. Not bad, for April 15 in the South. The Nor'easter caused such extreme winds (constant 45 to 75 mph) in this area from Sunday afternoon thru Tuesday morning that my electricity and a lot of others in McDowell County had been cutoff, mine for 52 hours, but I'm now back. last edited: 4/18/07 8:15:56 PM” 8:10:53 PM 4/18/07 “Uh, I just noticed that I had posted Monday morning before the power was disrupted, excuse me.” 8:26:27 PM 4/18/07 “BKW we have a TT trip posted for this weekend, check it out on the trips page and join us. At least come by our Friday night meeting place and meet a few of us.” 9:37:21 PM 4/18/07 “Hey hill...I'm in Buncombe Co...wasn't that storm insane???” 8:15:16 AM 4/19/07
