Forget the half-barrels of beer.
Those things weigh about 165# each when full.

That is a foolish amount of weight to load onto one's lower back.

There was a time when I handled those things, but it was one at a time except with a hand truck.

I had a trick for "tapping" them with my thumb for a little "refreshment" on the job.
