The Greatest Story Ever Told
My brother has invited me to see Beck Weathers this week, so in doing some background research on Beck, I found this website that has a Window's movie clip of his story. Open the "Weathers Full Speech" from the following link and be prepared to be absolutely blown away.

This link will hopefully take you right to the movie clip.

Excellent speech, and worth viewing even if your not a climber / mountaineer.

Anyone else watch this?

WARNING - it is an hour long!

I watched it in 3 parts....not because it was too long; it was so I could pay attention. What a great first hand perspective on what really happened.

I saw him give this speech in person. I couldn't help but wonder, after giving it so many times, what was acting and what was really still felt. Overall though, I liked it.

I'll be seeing Beck tonight at a lecture series. It will be interesting to compare his previous speech (I'm guessing it was around 2000 when his book came out) with tonight's presentation.

We get to ask questions, but I can't seem to come up with anything that is probably very original, anybody have any ideas?

How about, what he think of backcountry folks being rescued, who should pay, etc? Should hikers have to have private rescue insurance? Did he have to pay anything for his rescue on Everest?

Thanks Rosey - that's a good one!
