I did a little dayhike yesterday (mostly flat). It worked out to be about 13 miles altogether... am still a bit sore in places... shins for some reason....”

2 Tilt - 13 miles? Pretty long hike. I had been hoping I could go on a hike this weekend too, because I need to get fit for my trip on the West Highland Way in Scotland next month. The group will do an average of 12 miles a day. Unfortunately I have badly hurt my back last week and can't even go to work. It's hayfever season and every time I sneeze it feels like I am blowing a disc out of my back. Sounds hilarious, but is excruciating.”

“Ouch!   Sometimes I wonder if this 'walking upright' thing is really worth the back problems ---

I'm still feeling those last couple of miles from Saturday. Am also trying to get in better shape for a hike in a couple of weeks where there's actual elevation change. Extra miles help some, but there's really no substitute.

When mine goes out on me, it seems like the only thing that helps is time.   I've been trying to stretch more and it seems to help reduce the spasms.”

Nimble, guess what, this morning my chiropraktor strapped me into a device that did look like 'the rack' and he did stretch and straighten me out. On Wednesday they want to shoot me through a magnetic scanner.

Which reminds me that the first man I had a crush on was Captain Kirk. Alright, I was just 7 and at the time he just was the coolest starship Captain around. A couple of years later it was Han Solo.
