Oh yea, and of course Ruby!

I have no photos, other than some of Gracie dancing. Crash or Free may have some they can post.

We all met at the trailhead around 5pm. Crash, Crazy Mike and Free were waiting inside the red barn. I traded in my trail runners for a pair of uncomfortable black dress shoes. No kilt for me this evening, suit and tie.

We all started out our hike in the direction of where the cermony would be held. A few switchbacks later we were siting on ridge rests waiting for Ruby and Jon to show up. To show their love for each other, the bride and groom exchanged Western Mountain sleeping bags as well as...hold that thought, be right back

Okay, where was I....

oh yea..then they took a sip of the holy water, purfied by Aqua Mira of course and the trip leader pronounced them husban and wife. WHOO HOO!

The newly married Ruby and Jon lead the way back dow the switchback and to our campsite for the evening. We all picked our site for the evening, we were at site number 6 with some non-hiking friends. Everyone else was at site 15, I think.

We started drinking out of our Nalgenes different adult beverages and shared stories of previous hikes.

Dinner time arrived quickly. Prosecutor, as always made the rest of us look like weinies with his dinner choice for the evening. Brased beef with horseradish mashed potatoes.

A few more liaviations to go around before we were set to dance around the fire.

This was a great hike as I am sure others will add to the joy and celebration.

Congratulations guys!

Goooood times. =)
It was a wonderful party and a really nice ceremony (I cried, of course). Was really cool to be able to share their happiness and have a fun night out w/ friends to boot.
It was Abby's firet time to a wedding and she tore up the dance floor until we dragged her back to the hotel at midnight. My feet still hurt from those dang heels, next time I'm going to take my fashion ques from CMB and wear trail runners!

It was like a Hollywood movie. Ruby started crying when she recited her vows. And it was amazing that Ruby got Jon, a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, to recite those same words in front of all his soldier friends. And Ruby was Hollywood gorgeous, not anything like what she looks like after a week backpacking in the wilderness.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Whew!! What a whirlwind of a weekend this has been.

I was so happy that some of my very good TT friends could join us on Saturday. I hope all of you had a good time and made it home safely. We had a picture taken of all of us so once I get that from the photographer I will post it here.

The night was fun -- just like Wounded Knee described. They even got to meet my dad (who appears here every once in a while as "Pake"). It was revealed what TTer my dad warned me to stay away from.

Again, I truly am thankful and touched that each of you came on Saturday. It meant so much to me to have you there. My only disappointment is that we couldn't all go on a day hike in the dunes together. Incidentally, on Sunday afternoon that is just what we did. All my family who were still in town went to Kemil Beach and hiked into the dunes and had lots of fun exhausting the kids and the dog (and the parents).

Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for coming. I won't forget it.

BTW, Prosecutor mentioned his card on another thread. He made a fantastic card (my favorite) for us. My scanner isn't working or else I'd post it here for you to see. Maybe he still has it on his computer and can post it.

It was great to share in your joy. You were literally beaming all night.

The wedding cup cakes were awesome btw! My wife would take a bite of one at the table, pass it me, try another flavor, pass it me, try... well you get the idea. I woke up the next day with a damn food hangover. LOL!
