The week or two prior to this trip (when I stopped in the Roadhouse for lunch) the bartender (Tonya) was there again but didn't remember me. I told the whole thumbscrew story and she said, "Oh yeah, I remember that redhead." I then told her she's suppose to be on this upcoming trip as well. She replied, "Well, she better behave herself!"

I was the first to arrive at the Roadhouse Sunday morning and Tonya asked, "Where's the rest of your group?" I replied, "They'll be here shortly". When everyone else walked in Tonya saw Celeste (thinking she was thumbscrew) and started jumping all over her. I thought I was going to die from laughter!! The look on Redhead's face was priceless! Oh, and croft's reaction was just as comical!

Hey croft,

Mike and I remember your sleeping arrangement quite well--we heard you loud and clear from the campfire around midnight. It sounded like an auctioneer trapped in a duffle bag!! LOL Thanks for the late night laughs!

Mountainrunner,

I enjoyed your pics. Didn't anyone get any Friday night group shots around the campfire?

I'd like to see those pics as well, and where's the shots of Odie on the shelter roof? Oh, and the "backpacking lighter"?

iSolo, sadly, I was unable to get a group shot Friday night..... I think I was in shock until sometime Saturday morning after hearing Tiger point out that he is corn-fed and tasty around the fire Friday...... I still have remnants of the chills!!

I will say this, however, now that I have some time to type (didn't have time earlier today while working). Friday night was a fantastic night (wish I could have stayed for Saturday night). We had primo weather and a great group of campers. It's always nice to meet new faces on the various trips I've been on. Mike x 2 + Odie were cool and I hope to see them again on some future trips. Suzanne I met at Pictured Rocks and I enjoyed getting to chat with her again around the fire Saturday morning. Grace & Chocolate - very nice to meet both of you -- hopefully next time we'll have a couple of days to hike together. Lorax -- I've spent by far the most time hiking with and always enjoy his company. Love ya man! Redhead and Snow Tiger - hope to see you soon. It was a pleasure (Snow Tiger cracks me up). Firebug, it was good to see you again after two years (though brief). iSolo, we haven't met yet, but I look forward to it --- everyone speaks highly of you.

I've been able to get out a few times since the beginning of the year..... and I'm quickly reminded of why I must maintain my new year's resolution!! Good times with good people are too precious to miss out on..... regardless of what is happening at work! I vow to stay dedicated to the resolution -- see you in the BWCA in May.

My photos. Some appear dark in webshots but they appear bright and clear on my computer. Anyone know why?
